As part of Greenpeace's global "Detox" campaign, more than 700 people, in over 80 cities, in 20 countries around the world protested, staged street theatre and conducted "mannequin" walk-outs to demand ZARA commit to eliminating the use of all hazardous chemicals throughout its supply chain. The participants, from Bangkok to Buenas Aires, also called on ZARA store managers to forward Greenpeace's Detox demands to their headquarters, after new research found traces of hazardous chemicals in ZARA clothing items, some of which can break down in the environment to become hormone-disrupting or even cancer-causing substances. Now the only question is when will the world's largest fashion retailer -- which responds so swiftly to changes in fashion trends -- react to this global call for toxic-free fashion? After the novel Kuroi Jukai was published, in which a young lover commits suicide in the forest, people started taking their own lives there at a rate of 50 to 100 deaths a year. The site holds so many bodies that the Yakuza pays homeless people to sneak into the forest and rob the corpses. The authorities sweep for bodies only on an annual basis, as the forest sits at the base of Mt. Fuji and is too dense to patrol more frequently. Even if Barbie's market-share figure has been whittled away by more on-trend rivals, the fifty-something brand is still sitting pretty. The story of this icon-to-be is fascinating. TOXIC IS SO LAST SEASON They say you can tell next season's hottest trend by looking at the colour of the rivers in Mexico and China. That's because global fashion brands like Calvin Klein and GAP are using hazardous chemicals and dyes to make our clothes. These chemicals poison our rivers, and traces of these hazardous chemicals also end up remaining in many of the garments people buy. But it doesn't have to be this way. Around the world, a growing movement of people are calling on clothing brands to make fashion that doesn't cost the Earth. Over half a million people have joined the campaign since November, resulting in the world's largest fashion retailer, Zara, and the world's largest jean manufacturer, Levi's, to commit to clean-up their supply chain and products. A year after the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Hamley's toy store is selling a commemorative set of the couple as dolls. Mattel Inc., the U.S makers of Barbie dolls released the special two-doll set to mark the one-year anniversary of Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding at Westminster Abbey on April 29th, 2011. The figures are part of a limited collection by Mattel which have already sold out in America. Head buyer at Hamley's, Laura Olver, says they're expecting a lot of interest: "Straight after the engagement another manufacturer brought out a Catherine doll in the blue engagement dress which took us by surprise. We sold about 30 times more than we originally forecast we would sell of that doll. And that was no question it was Hamley's customers who are both tourists and obviously toy shop customers and that combination of the doll and the tourist element meant that we saw fantastic sales of that doll so we're really excited about the potential of this one." The box set costs just under $161 US Dollars and Mattel says they are more of a collector's item than a toy: While the dolls may not be everybody's taste, the royal couple is still hugely popular around the world.

This video features ALL the Original One Direction Dolls! You are going to wish you were one of those Barbie's after watching this! :D We worked so hard on bringing this to life. We really hope you like it =) All scenes were shot using an iphone 4S and 2 flashlights! Yes, an iPhone lol! It took about 2 days to shoot and many hours of editing using imovie. 1Ds voices at the end of the party were recorded from one of their Video Diaries. A lot of you have asked how old we are and where we're from? We're 10, 13, and 16 and our mom is Dominican and our dad is Irish - like Niall!, we live in U.S.A. Oh and our now famous kitty Chase is 3yrs old XD All 1D dolls were ordered on-line. You can find them at all big toy stores and on the official One Direction website. Please remember to Subscribe for more 1D EK Chase Productions! Now, here's what my mom has to say: "Surprisingly, a few viewers hv found this video to be unsuited for children. As a mom, i can tell you that ALL scenes were innocent and fun. The dancing, was simply dancing and nothing else, sorry if you saw it differently. The bath scene was simply cute. Not vulgar in any way. There are so many completely grotesque and violent videos on the internet, if your child happens to come across this video, you are lucky, she will not be scarred for life! Relax =) My girls are all A+ students! This was just a fun family project." Thank You ALL so much for all your support! A Huge thank you - to all those who have shared, subbed and tweeted this to 1D! Thank you! XO GRACIAS a todos por su apoyo. Nunca imaginamos que este video de locuras llegara a tantos paises! You don't have to spend a fortune on a cake to make it memorable. In this video, part 3 of a 6-part series, you'll learn how to make a dress for a princess doll cake using fondant. Now that we have the base of our dress completed and covered in fondant, we are ready to decorate. So you can decorate the base of the dress in any fashion that you like. You can add your doll, you can get these from any craft store, cake decorating store also. What you want to do is find the center of the top of your dome, and it comes with a nice little pick, so you can just stick it in, and it will stay in place. So you want to push your doll in, and there! We already have the making of our dress. Now you want to give your doll some clothes as well. So what I'd like to use is a heart shaped cutout, and with this cutout you're going to give your doll a nice little top. So what you can do is you can select any color of fondant that you like. For this case I'm going to use some pink, because girls like pink, and you're just going to just roll your fondant a littleyou don't need that much and we're going to roll this little piece of fondant... Now this you'll want about 1/4 of an inch thick, as well. You want to get this nice and even, I'm going to add some sugar to the table so that we can get our heart up, once we've cut it out. And you're just going to take your cutter, and you're going to to press into it, and it's going to give you a nice cut-out of a heart. Now what you're going to do...You're going to take the doll back out for this purpose. You can create some edible cake glue but I'd just like to use good old fashion water. And what I'm going to do is I'm just going to brush some water lightly around, close to the edge of the heart, you don't want to put too much on. And then, what you want to do is take your doll, and you just want to put the heart right here, in the middle and the water is going to help to stick it on. And then you can take your knife, and you can just cut this little piece off. And then we'll stick her back into there, and there, we have the making already of a top. I just want to push it in, just a little bit, just to round it out. All right. And there, you have the beginning of the top. If you want you can add a little decoration like flowers to her trim, around it... I'm going to make her a nice little bow, and it's going to hang down to the back."

Ending #33 Barbie Game Girl Gameboy Developer: Imagineering, Inc. Publisher: Hi Tech Expressions 1992 I'm not proud that I played this game. I never owned any Barbies and my wife only had three when she was very young before video games. We had to look up information on the things. She has a younger sister named Skipper and a black friend named Christie. If anyone knows more than that, you spend too much time with dolls. But I spend too much time with video games, so much time that I actually played and beat a Barbie game....::sigh:: I can count the ways this game is bad, but I want to highlight the only thing I liked about the game. On the music stage where you climb notes, records, and CDs, the notes will play a sound when you land on them. Why spend that much detail on there when the rest of your game is horse manure. Obviously this game was programmed, developed, and published for girls. Everything screams estrogen. Your goal in the game is to shoplift a pair of shoes, a necklace and a dress to go dancing with Ken. In the process you become a mermaid somehow, fight a Jellyfish to free the crab king (or King Crab?), and shrink to Smurf size to hop around, well, a hop. Controls, music, sounds, gameplay and graphics could have been programmed by any college kid with the same effect. No talent was required to make this game, it's pretty much a cash in on the Barbie name. There are worse games out there, plenty worse, it's just the whole experience is insipid. Oh, the most infuriating thing about this whole thing is that some dildo on Wikipedia actually had the stones, or brainless wit, to compare the sugar cubes you fight in this game to Earthbound. I loathe that statement, and would personally delete if I had a wiki account. Don't make me create a wiki account....

Nicole is a fan of our mannequin dress cakes and we took elements of the party's theme, colors and invitation into the presentation of the dress form cake. ** MORE PINK CAKE BOX ** Subscribe to Pink Cake Box on YouTube and never miss a cake! http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=pinkcakebox See more photos at http://blog.pinkcakebox.com/fashion-night-out-dress-cake-2012-09-03.htm Visit us for more cakes: http://www.pinkcakebox.com

Watch more Fashion Designers and Fashion Brands videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/500163-Coco-Chanel-Fashion-Designers The founder of the House of Chanel really presents a lot of contradictions. She set a fashion for very simple dressing but she lived surrounded by antiques. The founder of the House of Chanel really presents a lot of contradictions. Coco Chanel came from very humble beginnings but she became one of the most famous women of the 20th century. Even her career had two distinct periods. The first part lasted from around 1909 to 1939, when she closed her couture house because of World War II. The second half of the Chanel career was from 1953 to 1970 when she came out of kind of a self-imposed retirement. Coco Chanel was born in France in 1883 and she was raised in an orphanage, even though she wasn't really an orphan. Her mother had died and her father just couldn't take care of her and her two sisters, so he dropped them off at an orphanage to be raised. As a young adult she was a seamstress in a local shop and also tried to start a career singing in cafes. It's probably there that she acquired her nickname Coco, her real name was Gabrielle, because a couple of the songs she sang had "Coco" in the title. So here singing name, as it were, was Coco Chanel. She was rescued from this kind of unsuccessful singing career by a rich man that she met at the cafe named Etienne Balsan. Balsan was the heir to an industrial fortune, which gave him the time to ride and train and raise racehorses. He was really influential on Chanel, not only in her style of life, but also in her style of dressing, because Etienne and his wealthy riding friends all walked around in English-style riding clothes, and that's the look that she started to acquire. Coco became an excellent horsewoman and was known throughout her life as a very sporty individual. She not only started to wear English-inflected and menswear styled clothes, she actually could do the sports and the outdoor activities that they represented. Chanel actually started her fashion career as a milliner with a small hat shop she opened in Balsan's apartment in Paris. Chanel's hats were very simple, distinguishing her and her designs from a lot of the other fashionable hats at the time. Her shapes were simple, whereas other designers put a lot of ruffles and feathers and flowers on the hats, Chanel put like one or two ornaments, really keeping it simple in line with her design philosophy. Her first actual clothing shop was opened in Deauville, a resort area, in 1913. Because it was a resort area, people were into less formal, sporty clothes, and so her easy-to-wear skirts and pullovers, her knit tops, found a really receptive audience. She became a proper couturier in 1915, when she opened a real couture house, a made-to-order house in another resort area in Varetz. When she moved her couture operations to Paris, her career really took off, and she found clients among the avant-garde, artistic, more modern, forward-thinking women in the social world. During the 1920s and the 1930s, Chanel's style really crystallized. She became known for using a lot jersey in daywear, really easy-to-wear knits. Simple shapes, a lot of black. While some people say that Chanel invented the black dress, that's of course not true, but she definitely helped popularize the style. She did not operate her business from 1939 to 1953. And in fact, her activities during that period remain a bit controversial. When she ended her self-imposed retirement in the '50s and showed her first collection, people were astonished that it was so similar to the work that she had been doing before. They were really looking for something a little bit more revolutionary from this revolutionary designer. But within a year or two, people had realized that this is the Chanel look, and it in fact became very influential on fashion in general.
