How to cite a magazine article in APA style

01:39
Visit http://www.termpapergurus.com to buy essays from professional writers! Hello and welcome to the video reference series presented by termpapergurus.com. In this lecture, we will discuss how to cite an article presented in a magazine in APA style. As usual, the citation starts with the last name of the author first, and is then followed by the initial of the first name and then the initial of the middle name. The year that the article was published in is enclosed in brackets included by the month and day if they are available. This is followed by the name of the article you have included. Then, you include the italicized title of the magazine. Then you include the volume number in italicized font. Finally, you put in the page numbers which AREN'T italicized! Here is an example of this citation. Notice how the page number is not a single number but a range. This is where the article starts and end. You can see how the magazine title and volume number is italicized. This is it for today. As always a copy of the citation is included in the description and you can copy off from it if its urgent. Take care! And, thank you for visiting our videos! Sample Citation in video: Last name, First initial. Middle initial. (Year, Month Day). Article title. Magazine Title, Volume, pages. Mehta, P. B. (1998, June 6). Exploding myths. New Republic, 290, 17-19.

How to reference a book written by multiple authors in APA format

01:53
Hello and welcome to the video reference series presented by termpapergurus.com. In this lecture, we will discuss how to cite a book written by two or more authors in the reference list of a APA format paper. The part after the name of the authors is exactly the same as that of the single authors. That is, the book title is in italics and that is followed by the city the book was published in and the name of the publisher. All of this is found either on the front or back cover of the book or on the first few pages. Also, remember to capitalize only the first word of the book title and proper nouns. NOTHING ELSE! The more confusing part in this reference is of the names of the authors. A key point to remember here is to use the ampersand symbol before the last name of the last author. A key point to remember here is to use the ampersand symbol before the last name of the last author. Students often don't use the symbol and spell out and instead which is penalized by intructors. Also, remember to use a comma after the period you placed after the middle initial. This needs to be done for all the authors except for the last one. And finally, in case you have a book which is authored by six authors you need to use the first six authors' names, and replace the seventh and subsequent authors with "et al.," which means "and others." Like so. Here is an example of a citation. Please remember, to use hanging indents. If you don't know how to use them, we have a separate video on it. Please click the link and it will take you there. That's all for this video I guess, take good care of your academics! Bye! Sample citation from the video Last name, First initial. Middle initial., Last name, First initial. Middle initial., & Last name, First initial. Middle initial. (Year). Book title. Location: Publisher. Mazzeo, J., Druesne, B., Raffeld, P. C., Checketts, K. T., & Muhlstein, A. (1991). Comparability of computer and paper-and-pencil scores for two CLEP general examinations. Princeton, NJ:Educational Testing Service. How to cite in APA (Interviews)

00:56
Visit http://www.termpapergurus.com if you want more help! Hello and welcome to the video reference series presented by termpapergurus.com. In this lecture, we will discuss how to cite personal communication such as interviews in APA style. An interview is not considered recoverable data, so no reference to this is provided in the reference list. You may, however, cite the interview as such within the text as a personal communication. If you've simply read an interview conducted by someone else, you should pick the reference format appropriate for the source. If you read the interview in a magazine, for example, you need to format it how a magazine article is cited. The link is available if you want to see how that is done. That is it for learning how to cite interviews. Thank you for watching the video. Sample Citation from the Video: (T. T. Williams, personal communication, April 14, 2002)
