Hellshire Beach, Portmore, Jamaica

01:17
There are several beaches in the Hellshire area of St. Catherine, the biggest and busiest is Fisherman's Beach, known to Jamaicans as 'Hellshire Beach'. The beach gets very busy on weekends and local holidays with sunbathers and water-lovers from nearby Kingston and Portmore. Hellshire does not draw many tourists, except for ex-pats. Known to ex-pats as a "roots" beach, Hellshire draws a good crowd and is known for a wide choice of quality seafood. According to Jamaica Travel and Culture, Hellshire Beach is lined with thatched-roof restaurants offering a choice of fresh fish and lobster, fried or steamed to your liking, served with vegetables, bammy and festival. In terms of food quality there are no bad restaurants in Hellshire and all charge reasonable prices. Other attractions include the warm Caribbean Sea, inner-tubes for hire, jet-ski rides, donkey rides and loud reggae music.

How to Make Caramelized Nuts | Candy Making

02:32
Watch more How to Make Candy videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/511746-How-to-Make-Caramelized-Nuts-Candy-Making Ingredients Â_ cup sugar 1 tablespoon water Pinch sea salt 2/3 cup almonds Â_ teaspoon spice as desired (cayenne, paprika, etc.) Method Bring sugar, water, salt and almonds to a boil in a medium-sized pan, stirring constantly. Continue to cook over low heat, always stirring, until liquid turns a medium caramel color. Pour onto a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper and sprinkle with spice. Cool before serving. Makes 2 servings. Hi, my name is Katy (?) and today I'm going to show you how to make caramelized nuts at home. So I'm starting with three basic ingredients, I have whole almonds, these have the skin on but you can use any kind of nuts that you prefer, I'm going to start with about a cup of whole almonds. Right into my pot, and I'm just going to add about a quarter cup of sugar, right in there, a little bit of water as well. So if you take a look at the consistency I have here, I have my nuts, I have my sugar, and I have my water, everything kind of lightly coated, and all I'm gonna do is bring this to a boil and keep cooking until that sugar and water change to caramel. So when you're cooking these nuts, you wanna make sure that you're constantly stirring, you never wanna leave them to end up scorching in any particular place and also as the nuts are cooking they're going to toast, so while we'll also getting a nice caramel surface for our nuts, we're also toasting them up, making them really delicious and just a nice crunchy coating of caramel. All right, so we have our almonds, and you'll see that caramel is nice and toasty, it's almost starting to pop the skins of the almonds, that's a good way to tell when it's ready. And also at the bottom of the pan, see here that pop? And at the bottom of the pan you'll also see the caramel has turned to a nice amber golden color so we know we're perfect. Before my caramel sets up I want to make sure that I add salt, you relay want to bring out the flavor of those almonds, and also depending on what spices you like, I like sweet paprika, I like a little cayenne, so anything that you like, throw in a little spice in there, because nothing's better than some spicy caramelized nuts. So once you've got your spice and your salt mixed in there right onto a piece of parchment paper, and make sure you kinda spread the nuts out so this way they won't all clump together as they cool. And you can see almost immediately they're cool enough to touch, they cool down very quickly. If you want to serve them warm at a party the great way is just make them and serve them or else make them ahead of time, pop them in the oven just to heat them up for a couple minutes at about 350 degrees, and you have nice warm caramelized nuts. That's how you make caramelized nuts at home, enjoy.

I snorkeled and dived with friends in some great areas near Marsa Alam Egypt, 9-23/8/2013. For scuba diving, I have got a Open Water Diver Padi certificate, so I dived until 18-20m deep. I used a Chest Mount, a Head Strap Mount and the Dive Housing with Antifog inserts. For further information, take a look at the final credits. Hope you will enjoy this awesome holiday as I loved it!

[Rethink Retreats 1 minute holiday] UK Norfolk beach - sun, sky, sea... stunning clouds

00:46
http://www.rethinkretreats.com/ Take a break and enjoy another of our 1 minute holidays. So pick up your cappuccino and hold it close to warm your hands - this is a chillier holiday. We're on a lovely windswept beach in Norfolk on the east coast of the UK in October 2012. It's chilly and rather windy. The tide's gone out a long way and people are out walking their dogs. There's a whole lot of sky and a great feeling of getting the dust and grime blown away. This is how autumn SHOULD feel - bracing and exciting. Change is coming, seasons, the tide... maybe you're changing too? Look round and see the clouds, and the light on the beach. Good eh? Check back next week for another tiny little vacation. http://www.rethinkretreats.com/

Why Do Venomous Animals Live In Warm Climates?

11:40
Subscribe to Veritasium - it's free! http://bit.ly/YSWpWm As a Canadian-Australian, I have always wondered why it is that Australia has so many venomous animals that can kill you while Canada has virtually none. But it's not just Australia - it seems like all beautiful, warm places are cursed with venomous native species. So I set out to find the truth: why have all these venomous species evolved in the world's best holiday destinations? I asked chemists, visited the zoo, interviewed entomologists and snake experts. The answer I found was complicated: 1. The majority of venomous species are ectotherms, cold-blooded creatures whose internal temperatures are governed by their surroundings. 2. This means they have limited periods of activity - mainly while it's warm out, and can only exert short bursts of energy, so they are generally "sit and wait" predators. This may explain why they, more than mammals or birds, evolved venom. 3. It also explains why there are more of these species in warm climates. There are more of all species in warm climates, but this trend is especially pronounced for ectotherms. 4. So there are a greater number of venomous species in warm places, simply because there are more species in warm places. Cold climates still have venomous creatures, like the rattlesnakes of Canada and European vipers. 5. But history also has a role to play. In Australia, there were no snakes until 20 million years ago when a venomous sea snake from Asia encountered the land, sending venomous species to all corners of the continent. Later non-venomous arrivals have done well in the tropics but not as well in Australia's colder climates, so venomous types still dominate there. Hawaii has no venomous land snakes and nor does Jamaica. 6. The recent ice age also would have driven ectotherms from the northern parts of the Northern Hemisphere. This is why there are no snakes in Ireland, for example. Holidays in Dead Sea Jordan - Travel to lowest point on earth

01:17
http://www.petranightstours.com The name Dead Sea refers to the fact, that no organic life can exist here due to the high salinity. The lake is 75 kms long and 6 to 16 kms wide, mainly supplied by water from the Jordan River, but has no outlet, so the waters evaporate, leaving behind a dense mix of salts and minerals. The warm, soothing, salty water itself - ten times saltier than sea water, is rich in chloride salts of magnesium, sodium, potassium and bromine. The health effects of this special area was known since antiquity, it was one of the first spas in the world. Herod the Great, king of Judaea, already used it in the 1st century BC as health treatment, as well as the Egyptian Queen, Cleopatra. The Nabateans discovered the value of bitumen extracted from the Dead Sea an needed by the Egyptian pharaos for embalming mummies. Today the Dead Sea is an attraction for health and leisure tourism. Several hotels with spa and fitness facilities are gathered at Sweimeh. Public beaches also providing showers and restaurant to enjoy some hours at the lowest spot on earth. http://www.petranightstours.com

Nassau is the capital of the island of New Providence which is one of the many islands of the Bahaman archipelago that extends for almost a thousand kilometres between Cuba and Florida in the Atlantic Ocean. New Providence is the commercial and political centre and is more commonly known as the Bahamas.Samuel Cunard, legendary founder of the Cunard Line, established the first maritime route from New York to Nassau. His steamboat, the Karnak, took five days to travel the two thousand kilometres to the islands which in 1859 was a sensation. Nassau is a city without skyscrapers. The historic city centre contains several buildings that date back to the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries and looks like a gold prospector’s town that has prospered at great speed. Situated on Paradise Island is the Atlantis Resort that is the largest entertainment oasis in the world and has a unique aquarium landscape where South African hotel tycoon, Sol Kerzner, created a fantastic resort with lagoons surrounded by jungle, relaxing bays and waterfalls. A further attraction of Atlantis is one of the most popular of the entire complex, Dolphin Cay, a world of dolphins that swim and entertain in front of the resort’s skyline. The Exuma Islands are sixty kilometres from Nassau and comprise three hundred and sixty five tiny islands and Channel Cay is the perfect example of a remote island paradise of warm water, appetising seafood, sheltered bays and glimmering ocean. Welcome! Hope you can subscribe to my channel for weekly guided relaxations and meditations. I hope that the rhythmical sound of the ocean waves along with the soothing background music will leave the listener feeling relaxed, peaceful and calm. The script for this guided imagery is an adapted version of "The Beach" that was originally written by Walt Schafer in the book "Stress Management for Wellness", Second Edition, Fort Worth: Harcourt, Brace and Jovanovich. The music I am using in the background is one of Dan Gibson's Reflections of Nature CD Album series called "Relax" and the track I used here on this audio is called "Smooth Surf". It's a beautiful CD that I sincerely recommend if you want to relax and unwind while listening to the sound of waves and music! Enjoy! How to catch creek Mullet gives you some of the basic tips you need to have any success with the "Grey Ghost". Tricky to catch, the Mullet is an ideal species for fishermen to target if they are on holiday, one of the better light tackle fighting fish in skinny water they grow to double figures, with a national average probably running around 3lbs. The same techniques can also work abroad, with bread the best bait to start with. Here Graeme Pullen passes on a few of his Totally Awesome Fishing tips and then goes out to catch one on a broken section of carp rod! What a man! If you choose your tide right you could be amazed at just how many mullet can be in one creek area. Just make sure your reel drag is set to give line, as the grey mullet is one of the fastest fish you will find in shallow water and they can even be taken on a fly rod. Their guide is Paul Harris who runs the Dromagowlane Guest House on the Beara Peninsula. ► Download our Free Digital Fishing Magazine: http://www.awesomeangler.co.uk ► Check out the Salt Life YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/saltlife ► Become a Patron for monthly Q&A and Behind the Scenes: https://www.patreon.com/totallyawesomefishing?ty=h ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ FILMING GEAR WE USE ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Main Camera - Sony Secondary Camera - http://amzn.to/2bXaO1Y GoPro Chest Mount - http://amzn.to/2cjvTBL GoPro Head Mount - http://amzn.to/2bXdwo4 Lightweight Tripod - http://amzn.to/2cgWSiJ Camera SD Card - http://amzn.to/2c40W2x Camera Light - http://amzn.to/2cgZU6K Portable Battery Charger - http://amzn.to/2bXdEEn Studio Lighting - http://amzn.to/2bTgIQs Drone Camera - http://amzn.to/2bXd0GI Mike's Camera Microphone - http://amzn.to/2bThNbb Fishing Gear EPIC PEN ROD: http://amzn.to/2cEefJi Lure Bag: http://amzn.to/2cwoT2w Fishing weigh scales - http://amzn.to/2ch0RM3 Fishing Pliers - http://amzn.to/2c777mi These are Amazon associate links ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ SOCIAL MEDIA ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ • Our website & DVDS → http://www.totallyawesomefishing.com • Facebook → https://www.facebook.com/totallyawesomefishing • Instagram → https://www.instagram.com/tafishingofficial/ • Twitter → https://twitter.com/tafishing • Google+ → https://plus.google.com/+TAFishing/posts • Snapchat → tafishing ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ FISHING PLAYLISTS ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ SEA FISHING: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLlJDPmb6OexrDnAFNBNJez8zRe4EECDZY BEACH FISHING: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLlJDPmb6OexpRHtX7Wp_3lDa6hAmChIuh CARP FISHING: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLlJDPmb6OexrY3ZHJk6KIAva6yZgyL9No FLY FISHING: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLB995E0AF38A6353F PIKE, PERCH & ZANDER: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLlJDPmb6Oexpa4bpAxjX6ptu_dgIx3PRW RIVER FISHING: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLlJDPmb6OexpWpfhuuFw2kTn5I0-uV5hQ SHARKS & BIG GAME: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLlJDPmb6OexqcTMfZwCGgHjGgOHIF4-xE "HOW TO" TIPS: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLDAD5E2DCA500FE40 ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ TAF CLOTHING & MERCH ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ UK Clothing Store → http://totallyawesomefishing.spreadshirt.co.uk/ Europe Clothing → http://totallyawesomefishing-eu.spreadshirt.net/ US Clothing Store → http://totallyawesomefishing.spreadshirt.com/ ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ABOUT TAFISHING ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Totally Awesome Fishing is a weekly free-to-watch fishing show brought to you by father and son Graeme & Mike Pullen. Beautiful villa, wonderful people and genuine food. We went there first week of December 2012. It was still hot up to 30 C. The temperature of the Red Sea was 25C. DIY iPad Case Design | Sea Lemon

04:32
Watch more videos - http://bit.ly/SeaLemonDIYChannel Subscribe - http://bit.ly/SeaSubs Show more info below ↓ In this tutorial, I'll show you how to customize an iPad case using a decoupage technique. You can use this method on mobile and tablet cases as well. Materials: • Case • Mod Podge glue (matte or gloss) • Mod Podge clear acrylic sealer (matte or gloss) • Paper (scraps or decoupage) Tools: • Pencil and ruler • Glue brush or sponge • Scissors • X-acto blade You can use decoupage napkins (which are made specifically for decoupaging) or scraps of paper like I did. Any varnished or coated paper will be a little more difficult to glue down — I found this out with my scraps of coloraid. The easier the glue can soak into the paper, the easier it will wrap. Here are some other ideas of paper you could use: comic book pages, text or magazine pages, newspaper, printed photos, posters and patterned papers. .............................................. ❋ Related Videos ❋ DIY Hand Painted Mug http://bit.ly/15LGudB DIY Elastic Band Book Closure http://bit.ly/13jmwXN .............................................. ❋ Follow me! ❋ FACEBOOK http://facebook.com/sealemon TWITTER http://twitter.com/sea_lemon INSTAGRAM http://instagram.com/sealemon SNAPCHAT sealemondiy PINTEREST http://pinterest.com/sealemon TUMBLR http://sealemon.co ETSY SHOP http://sealemon.etsy.com ‧‧‧‧‧‧‧‧‧‧‧‧‧‧‧‧‧‧‧‧‧‧‧‧‧‧‧‧‧‧‧‧‧‧‧‧‧‧‧‧‧‧‧‧‧ ❋ PO Box ❋ Sea Lemon 1776 N. Fish n Crab Charters Deep Sea Fishing Sunshine Coast Queensland

Fish'n'Crab charters are based in Mooloolaba on the Sunshine Coast and they depart each day from the Mooloolaba Marina. Fish in comfort on their 55ft true fishing vessel that allows enough room for everyone even when at maximum capacity. This unique deep sea fishing charter also includes crabbing so you could go home with a bag full of fish and crabs. Now that is a top fishing Charter! There is a great range of fish to be caught in the waters off the Sunshine Coast, like snapper, perch, sweetlip, mackerel, blue fin tuna, Maori cod. The warm currents also attract many big game deep water fish species including marlin, tuna, dolphin fish (mahi-mahi), swordfish, wahoo, and mackerel. Tuesday Tweak: Soup (Holiday Edition) - RECIPE BELOW!

04:52
Tuesday Tweak: SOUP! Warm your heart and soul this holiday season with a vegetarian, low fat, antioxidant rich, creamy and delicious soup! And have no fear, this soup won't puff you up (it's low sodium!) or let you down (it kicks ass in the taste department!). Our creamy sweet potato soup puts it's sodium laden, fat-riddled, high calorie soup cousins to shame. Whip a bowl up and you'll see (and taste) what we mean! What you need: -2 lbs sweet potatoes, sliced in half horizontally -1/4 cup water -2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil -1 cup white onion, diced -4 cups low sodium vegetable broth -1 oz parmesan cheese for garnish (optional) -1/2 tsp ground cumin -1/2 tsp red pepper flakes -1/4 tsp sea salt -2 tbsp organic flat leaf parsley (for garnish) -a few "strips" of coconut bacon (recipe below!) And now, whip it up! STEP 1. Bring water to a boil in a large saucepan. Toss in sliced sweet potatoes and boil 'em until they're soft enough to stick a fork into. Remove the skins. STEP 2. Heat olive oil in a large pot on medium. Add onions and sautee for 2-3 minutes. Then, stir in cumin and red pepper. STEP 3. Add stock to the pot of onions and spices and bring to a boil. STEP 4. Place 1/2 stock and 1/2 of your potatoes in a blender and blend until creamy. Do the same with the second half. STEP. Pour a bowl, stir in salt and top with a sprinkle of parmesan, a garnish of parsley, and our special ingredient, coconut bacon! Enjoy with a slice of whole grain gluten free bread or a few flaxseed crackers! BONUS: COCONUT BACON RECIPE (it's not bacon...it's BETTER!) Your materials are: -2 tablespoons low sodium, gluten free tamari -2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar -1 1/2 tablespoons maple syrup -1 1/2 cups unsweetened coconut flakes (the larger and thicker, the better) -Parchment paper or tin foil And now, whip it up! STEP 1. Blend the tamari, maple syrup and vinegar in a medium sized mixing bowl. Add coconut and mix until each flake is evenly coated. Allow the coconut to absorb the marinade for at 30-60 minutes. STEP 2. Preheat oven to 325. Distribute coconut evenly over a foil or parchment lined baking sheet. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the coconut is golden and smells toasty. That's it! We're tellin' ya, this bacon beats real bacon, and is good on everything. We could barely keep our mitts off it during the filming of this tutorial video (link to the YOUTUBE VIDEO) ! Stay warm, toasty and TWEAKED as the weather gets chillier and check in with us and the POSSE on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter with your comments and feedback! Soup 'n 'Stix, The POUND Girls
