Trip to Antarctica 2016 (HD)
Antarctica trip 2016, Antarctica Tourism, Antarctica Travel Guide, Antarctica vacations Travel Videos HD, World Travel Guide http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=World1Tube Antarctica is a land of extremes: it is the coldest and driest continent on Earth and has the highest average elevation. As the fifth largest continent in the world, Antartica is also the most Southern, overlying the "South Pole". Scarcely touched by humans, the frozen land boasts breathtaking scenery, broken by only a handful of scientific bases and a "permanent" population of scientists numbering only a few thousand. Visitors to Antarctica generally must brave rough sea crossings aboard ice-strengthened vessels, but those who do are rewarded with amazing scenery and tremendous and unique wildlife. Destinations ============= The primary destinations for those visiting Antarctica will either be a research base (for those working on the frozen continent) or the Antarctic Peninsula or Ross Sea area (for those visiting by ship). Other destinations are reachable only by those blessed with extreme motivation and (most importantly) funding. South Pole — needs no introduction Southern pole of inaccessibility — the furthest place in Antarctica from the Southern Sea (in other words the hardest place to get to in the world), home to an abandoned Soviet station, which although covered by snow, still bears a visible gold Lenin bust sprouting from the snow and facing Moscow (if you can find a way inside the building, then there's a golden visitor book to sign) Mount Erebus — world's southernmost active volcano, on Ross Island right next to ~Mount Terror!~ Anver Island / Anvord Bay — if any part of Antarctica is "touristy," this is it, home to Palmer Station (U.S.), the museum at Port Lockroy, Cuverville Island, and the only two cruise ship stops on the continent: Paradise Bay and Neko Harbor South Shetland Islands — another set of major attractions on the Antarctic Peninsula cruise ship circuit, including: penguins and hot springs at Deception Island, Hannah Point, Half Moon Island, Aitcho Islands, Artigas Base (Uruguay), and the ever friendly Polish researchers at Arctowski Station McMurdo Sound — McMurdo Station (USA) and Scott Base (New Zealand) on the mainland near Ross Island Mawson's Huts — the small encampment of Sir Douglas Mawson's ill-fated Australian Antarctic Expedition, of which he was the sole survivor, at Cape Denison, Commonwealth Bay

Life in the Mariana Trench
A compilation of video footage captured from the University of Aberdeen’s Hadal-Lander in the Mariana Trench from 5000m to 10,545 m deep. The large fish inhabit the shallower depth (5000 to 6500m) are rat-tails, cusk eels and eel pouts. At the mid depths (6500 to 8000m) are the supergiant amphipods and the small pink snailfish. The fragile snailfish at 8145m is now the deepest living fish. At depth greater than 8500m, only large swarms of small scavenging amphipods are visible. The footage was taken during the HADES-M cruise on Schmidt Ocean Institute’s Research Vessel ‘Falkor’. The Ocean - The City In The Sea OFFICIAL LIVE VIDEO, Hong Kong 2011
The clip is from the band's Hong Kong stop on their tour across China, which is prominently featured in the DVD documentary. Founding member and guitarist Robin Staps fills us in on the details: "This clip was filmed at our show at Hidden Agenda in Hong Kong during our first tour there in 2011. It was a crazy night, the audience was actually more drunk than us, and completely went ape shit. During the encore, "The City In The Sea" off our "Aeolian" record, Loic asked everyone to come up on stage and things went off the hook. These kids really enjoyed seeing some live metal in their city, and there are some quite unique dancing styles on display." The Ocean's triple-DVD release, "Collective Oblivion," is now available in stores and from www.pelagic-records.com/cds. The 3xDVD set is a thorough and expansive look at The Ocean's career and touring experiences, including the Heliocentric record release show with an extended line-up of 13 musicians on stage; as well as a special performance at the museum for musical instruments in Berlin, and much, much more! Collective Oblivion includes: - Multiple camera shots of three full live concerts with a total of 21 individual song performances - 130 minutes of The Ocean history, as told by band members, past and present - 175 minutes of tour documentaries and live footage filmed in North America, Asia, Russia, Australia, and Europe - 2 previously unreleased video clips off Anthropocentric songs - old video clips & live visuals - 10 extra individual song performances filmed around the globe - Total run time of 500 minutes! Collective Oblivion comes in a stunning hardcover/book-style packaging with brass-foil print. The book contains 3 DVDs and a +30 pages booklet, with loads of photos, tour diaries and writings by band members and by director Alex Kraudelt, who dedicated two and a half years of his life to traveling with The Ocean around the globe. Collective Oblivion is the end result of this long odyssey, which produced a total of 28 terabyte of video data for editing. "If you're a band planning on releasing a live/compilation DVD, you'll do well to look at Collective Oblivion and promptly throw all your plans out of the nearest window...The Ocean have gathered an extraordinary amount of relevant and wonderful material for diehard fans and those new to the experience alike." US Navy TBF Avenger gunner from USS Essex is buried at sea with his aircraft dur...HD Stock Footage
Link to order this clip: http://www.criticalpast.com/video/65675070253_TBF-Avenger-aircraft_USS-Essex_sea-burial_dead-gunner Historic Stock Footage Archival and Vintage Video Clips in HD. US Navy TBF Avenger gunner from USS Essex is buried at sea with his aircraft during World War II A Grumman TBF avenger torpedo bomber of VT-15 Torpedo Air Group, approaches and lands on the deck of the USS Essex (CV-9) during the Battle of Manila Bay, in World War 2. Upon landing, Lt. Robert Cosgrove (Pilot) and Sailor Digby Denzek (Radioman) can be seen in their respective forward and middle crew positions. But the rear gunner position, occupied by Aviation Machinist Mate 2nd Class,Loyce Edward Deen (Gunner) has been completely destroyed by enemy 40mm shell fire. As the aircraft is parked amongst others, with wings folded, sailors of the Essex take fingerprints and cut dog tags from the body of AMM2C Loyce Deen in the gunner position. Captain Carlos W. Wieber, Commanding Officer of the Essex, and her crew, participate in funeral services on the deck. A chaplain conducts the services from beside the aircraft, where Loyce Deen's remains in the gunner's position have been shrouded. Closeup view of Rear Admiral Frederick C. Sherman during the burial service. A bugler sounds taps. Beside the bugler is David L. McDonald, who was XO of the USS Essex (and later Chief of Naval Operations in the 1960s). Deen's remains are then buried at sea in the TBF avenger in which he perished. The aircraft floats off the fantail for a short time before sinking from view. Two TBF Avengers are seen flying overhead , in tribute. Crew members then disband and return to their duties. Location: Manila Philippines. Date: November 5, 1944. 1 hour video of big ocean waves crashing into sea cliffs - HD 1080P
Big ocean waves - some 20 to 30 feet (6 - 9 meters) high breaking and crashing into cliffs along South Africa's Western Cape coast (often referred to in history and on old seafarers charts as the Cape of Storms). The power of a rough and stormy sea is incredible to watch and listen to as massive waves crack like thunder, collapse and crash into the side of the mountains sending spray high above the cliff ridges. Further down the coast as well as behind where I was positioned, the mountainside was hammered as far as the eye could see, with white water exploding skywards and raining down over the vegetation. I had a bit of fun with the title in the video "Africa Under Siege" because at times it really seems like the sea is preparing to launch an invasion as it scales the fortress-like cliffs. :) Just a quick note on the color of the foam for those who are not familiar with different types of sea foam. This video was shot in a pristine marine nature reserve with excellent water quality. The type of foam produced by diatoms is usually cream to caramel in color and in this area is due to the up-welling of nutrients after prolonged windy conditions when their populations thrive. It's because of the up-welling of nutrients and resulting phytoplankton blooms that the sea is able to support so much life and is therefore a sign of a healthy and productive ocean. Foam is produced when the phytoplankton are torn apart by the crashing waves and their spilled cell contents acts like soap, trapping air as it's churned up in the surf. Hope you enjoy the video as much as I did filming it. Consider subscribing if you want to be notified when I upload new nature scenes. Why not view this short video, absorb the atmosphere and sense of the sea ebbing and flowing, and head out for a walk while keeping the wonderful rhythmical sound and image of the sea in your mind. Even if you live right in the middle of a city you can do this exercise, walk for as short or as long a distance as your time and capabilities allow. Walking is something that almost everyone on the planet can do and it's free. If you haven't been exercising for some time it is recommended that you consult a professional who can give you personal advice on how to start taking up physical exercise. Benefits Of Walking Walking is a relatively low impact exercise which can benefit the mind and body in many different ways. Walking improves your circulation and as a result increases the supply of oxygen to each and every cell in your body, this in turn helps you to feel more alert and alive. A brisk walk is one of the best natural energizers around. It wakes up stiff joints and eases muscle tension so you feel less sluggish. Increasing your activity level by walking can help lift your mood as feel-good endorphins are released into the bloodstream, reducing stress and anxiety. Studies have shown regular, moderate-intensity exercise (such as brisk walking) to be as effective as antidepressants in cases of mild to moderate depression. Walking is a great time to think more clearly. Research has shown other benefits of regular walking to, help relieve stress, help manage weight and it reduces your risk of high blood pressure, heart disease and stroke. Recent research has also shown walking to prevent type-2 Diabetes. For This Exercise As you walk be mindful and conscious of your breathing. Take good deep natural breaths in and out, but don't force your breath by breathing in to deeply. Feel the clean air enter your lungs and being distributed around your body. Become aware of any stresses or tensions in your body or mind as you breath in and while you exhale let them all go, release them with your out-breath, consciously asking your stress and tension to leave your body. Repeat until you start to feel a sense of calm enter your mind and body. Some obvious but often overlooked ways of getting more walking into your lifestyle at work, at home and at leisure. Walk rather than send an email, walk during your lunchbreak for 10-15 minutes, don't use the lift, take the stairs instead and walk to meetings. Walk the children to school or take your dog for a walk. Instead of using public transport or taking the car, could you walk the distance instead. Park the car further from the entrance to your destination or get off the bus stop a few stops earlier. Be prepared and bring your walking shoes to work. Walking can be very sociable, meet up with a colleague or friend and walk and talk, you won't hardly notice that you are exercising. It can be a great motivator to have a walking partner as you can encourage one another, today you might not feel up to it and a partner would encourage you out on a walk while the tomorrow you may be the one helping your partner get motivated. For The Beginner If you are just starting out on an exercise program, don't be in a rush to achieve more than your capabilities. Walking in this instance is not a competition either with yourself or with anybody else, but rather a means of improving your overall general health. Start slowly and build up both your pace of walking and the distance you cover over time. In the beginning, even if it is just a couple of minutes walking out into the garden or even just around the house (you could play this video through speakers or any of my other nature soundscapes and imagine you are walking outside). You can gradually increase how long you walk for and how far you travel, over time building up to a good 30 or so minutes 3-5 times per week at a brisk pace. If you never reach this goal that doesn't matter as long as you are exercising and well within your limits. Check with a professional physical educator medical practitioner as you progress to oversee everything is in order. Start exercising today, get out and enjoy the beauty that is nature. There is an anchor tied to your ankle that begs to watch you sink Is the bottom of the ocean where you want to make your bed? I could feel you slip through my fingers and sink towards the abyss But nothing that I did could ever keep you safe from the ocean that's filling your lungs There is an anchor tied to your ankle that begs to watch you sink Effervescent mind, sinking so fast You could have been just fine if you had listened when I cried out Stray from the tide or my words will become a distant sound Separate from the shore and you will surely drown My heart never felt so full, when you would wake in my bed You made a choice to return to the waves, and now it feels like a part of me is dead I would give anything to bring you back But you're gone, and you sleep in the lowest depths of the sea There is a hole in my heart A fragment remains but never the same You filled the space until you gave up on me With my feet stuck in the sand and just out of reach of grabbing your hand Your mind will sift through the past, your heart torn in half, this breath will be your last Sleep in the sea as the anchor becomes your destiny

In this exciting adventure, Jonathan travels to Manuk, a tiny, uninhabited volcanic island several hundred miles from the nearest populated island in Indonesia, on a mission to discover why the waters of this remote place are teeming with thousands of venomous sea snakes! And if you love sea snakes, check out our adventure with sea snakes in Australia: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9gQY4m2HPYk ********************************************************************** If you like Jonathan Bird's Blue World, don't forget to subscribe! Located in the middle of the so-called coral triangle, the diversity of species and colors of Indonesian reefs absolutely amazes me every time I get the chance to dive here. This time however, it’s not the reefs I have come to film, but a remote and uninhabited island whose waters are reputed to teem with thousands of sea snakes! The island, known as Manuk, is an active volcano a hundred kilometers from the nearest inhabited island, smack dab in the middle of the Indonesian archipelago. Getting there is no easy task. I have chartered the Seahorse, a traditional Indonesian Pinisi built for divers, for a special itinerary to reach Manuk Island. Divemaster Jandri meets me at the marina in Sorong. It took me 2 full days of flying just to get to Sorong from the United States! He takes me out to the Seahorse, my home away from home for the next two weeks. This expedition will take 14 divers 1200 miles across the Banda Sea, from Sorong to Alor, stopping to dive along the way at many islands, the most important of which of course is Manuk. The island is aptly named: Manuk means “bird” in several Indonesian dialects. And birds it has! Manuk is completely uninhabited and there are a few reasons why. First of all, it’s kind of steep. But more importantly, it’s an active volcano! There are steam and sulfur vents all over the island. It swims casually by flapping its flattened, paddle-like section of tail. Sea snakes are among the most venomous animals on Earth. They use this venom to hunt, and fortunately, attacks on people are extremely rare. Soon I start to see other sea snakes, and I realize that more and more have been appearing. Were they here before and I didn’t see them, or did they come out from someplace? Clearly, some were sleeping. This one is taking a nap in plain view on the reef. I guess they don’t really have to worry about predators. I watch this one sleep for a little while, and start to wonder if it’s even alive. Pretty soon I notice that as the snakes are waking up, they are coming over to check me out. Like land snakes, this is how a sea snake “smells” but at the same time, the tongue flicking helps get rid of excess salt from glands in its mouth. Because sea snakes are reptiles just like land snakes, they have lungs and need to breathe air just like people. So a sea snake must head to the surface every once in a while for a breath. Sea snakes have a huge lung that takes up nearly the entire length of their bodies so they can hold a big breath that will last a while. Each time a sea snake surfaces, it usually spends a minute or two resting and breathing, before gulping in that last big breath and diving back down to the reef. A breath can last 1-2 hours depending on the species, but most sea snakes breathe more often than that unless they are sleeping. They can also absorb a little bit of oxygen from the water directly through their skin, which helps them extend their dives. The next morning I’m up at sunrise, and heading out to the reef for an early morning dive. Early morning is when the sea snakes hunt, and I’m hoping to witness the reef alive with sea snakes on the prowl! Underwater, the light levels are still low, and I’m heading out to a deep seamount where I saw a lot of sea snakes yesterday. This should be a good place to find some sea snakes hunting. When a sea snake hunts, it takes advantage of having a small head and a thin body to go from hole to hole in the reef, poking its head inside. It hopes to corner a fish or invertebrate that’s hiding in the hole. Once the hunting starts, more sea snakes start coming in to the reef to join the hunt. On this seamount more than a hundred feet from the surface, dozens of sea snakes are gathering to prowl the reef for food. Sometimes, they appear to work together to make sure nothing escapes.

Bioshock Infinite: Burial at Sea - Wheel of Blood Music Video/Tribute [Warning Spoilers]
Warning - Do not watch this if you have not finished Bioshock Infinite or the Burial at Sea expansion. And it's done. My final adieu to Bioshock Infinite. So happy to have this finished. It took a long while. 79 video files is a lot of footage to sort through it seems. The video turned out all right, I think. There were less nice looking scenes that could be used since the expansion is rather shorter than the main game and therefore has less cut scenes for me to use. This forced me to reuse a lot of the scenes over and over again at different points. I hope it's not too repetitive. Also I just want a quick moment to say once more that the voice acting was fucking amazing in this expansion. Great fun to edit with. Music: The Opening - Francois Paul Aiche There may or may not be an ad on this video. It's 50/50 at this point.

In the Heart of the Sea - Official Teaser Trailer [HD]
Chris Hemsworth stars in Ron Howard's IN THE HEART OF THE SEA, in theaters March 13th. http://intheheartoftheseamovie.com https://www.facebook.com/IntheHeartoftheSeaMovie Oscar winner Ron Howard (“A Beautiful Mind”) directs the action adventure “In the Heart of the Sea,” based on Nathaniel Philbrick’s best-selling book about the dramatic true journey of the Essex. In the winter of 1820, the New England whaling ship Essex was assaulted by something no one could believe: a whale of mammoth size and will, and an almost human sense of vengeance. The real-life maritime disaster would inspire Herman Melville’s Moby-Dick. But that told only half the story. “In the Heart of the Sea” reveals the encounter’s harrowing aftermath, as the ship’s surviving crew is pushed to their limits and forced to do the unthinkable to stay alive. Braving storms, starvation, panic and despair, the men will call into question their deepest beliefs, from the value of their lives to the morality of their trade, as their captain searches for direction on the open sea and his first mate still seeks to bring the great whale down. “In the Heart of the Sea” stars Chris Hemsworth (“The Avengers,” “Rush”) as the vessel’s veteran first mate Owen Chase; Benjamin Walker (“Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter”) as its inexperienced Captain, George Pollard; Cillian Murphy (“The Dark Knight Rises”) as second mate Matthew Joy; and Ben Whishaw (“Skyfall”) as novelist Herman Melville, whose inquiries into the event 30 years later helped bring the story to light. Tom Holland (“The Impossible”) also stars as young seaman Tom Nickerson, and Brendan Gleeson (“Edge of Tomorrow”) as the same man, 30 years later. Spanish actor Jordi Mollà (“Riddick”) is the captain of another ship, the Archimedes, who tries to warn the Essex of what may lie ahead. Howard directed from a screenplay by Charles Leavitt (“Blood Diamond”), story by Charles Leavitt and Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver (“Rise of the Planet of the Apes”), based on the book In the Heart of the Sea: The Tragedy of the Whaleship Essex by Nathaniel Philbrick, winner of the 2000 National Book Award for Nonfiction. The film is produced by Joe Roth (“Oz the Great and Powerful”), Paula Weinstein (“Blood Diamond,” “This is Where I Leave You”), Will Ward, Brian Grazer (“J. Edgar”) and Ron Howard. Serving as executive producers are Bruce Berman, Sarah Bradshaw, Palak Patel, Erica Huggins and David Bergstein, with William M. Connor as co-producer. The behind-the-scenes creative team includes Oscar-winning director of photography Anthony Dod Mantle (“Slumdog Millionaire,” “Rush”); production designer Mark Tildesley (“The Fifth Estate”); Oscar-winning editors Michael Hill (“Apollo 13,” “Rush”) and Dan Hanley (“Apollo 13”); costume designer Julian Day (“Rush”) and composer Roque Baños (“Evil Dead”). “In the Heart of the Sea” is a Warner Bros. Pictures presentation, in association with Village Roadshow Pictures, a COTT Productions-Enelmar Productions, A.I.E. co-production, a Roth Films/Spring Creek/Imagine Entertainment Production, in Association with Kia Jam. Opening on March 13, 2015 in theatres and IMAX, the film will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company, and in select territories by Village Roadshow Pictures.

They have long, slim bodies; short limbs, a small tail and webbed paws. Sea Otters are closely related to land animals like..Weasels... Badgers... and Minks. But Sea Otters spend most of the time in cold water. That's why they have a really thick coat of fur. In fact, it's the thickest coat of ALL animals. Their fur lets absolutely no water through, just like a rain coat. Sea Otters love nothing better than to float on their backs and roll around. "Look at me. Hey Mum, Look at me! I can tumble". And... they love to play, and groom each other's coats. "Oh hello... how's your coat looking? Weeeee yes, yes looking good" Lying on the beach and chilling out... with a bit of head-scratching... is fun too. Did you know...? Sea Otters are one of the few animals that use tools. They use rocks to smash open sea molluscs. Isn't that clever. When Sea Otters rest, they lie together in a big group called a raft. And they hold hands so no one floats away. 10 Creepy Sea Creatures You Didn't Know Existed
Did you know any of these amazing and scary deep sea creatures? It's hard to believe these bizarre animals exist. Subscribe: http://goo.gl/9CwQhg 'Hatchet Fish' footage by Filmic Art : www.filmicart.com For copyright matters please contact us at: [email protected] Description: There is a vast world below the ocean that we have yet to discover in its entirety. While we seem to know nearly everything about the land, the sea still leaves much to be desired. As you go down into the depths of the ocean, you’ll notice a lot will change. For one, you’ll begin to be immersed in darkness. Second, the pressure will change. So, the creatures that have been discovered deep in the oceanic depths are quite different biologically, and they can be quite terrifying to look at. But once we begin to understand them, we can start to learn more about our existence, and even come closer to curing diseases and solving some of the world’s most complex mysteries. However, the sea creatures that have been discovered recently have shown to be just downright creepy and terrifying. You probably recall the Angler Fish, especially if you’re seen the Disney movie, “Finding Nemo”. If you didn’t realize that this fish is the real deal, get ready for new additions to your nightmares. It wasn’t a work of fiction or some messed up fantasy of some Disney Imagineer. The fish that we see in this video is actually female, and the male is a small weakling, wandering the sea to find a female with her pheromones. The male then attaches itself to the female and becomes a parasite. Every part of the male merges with the female except for the testicles, which the female uses to impregnate herself. Jokes aside, this is quite a fascinating process despite how creepy it is. Similar to the angler fish is the Viper Fish, which has a natural extra attachment that illuminates in the darkness of the sea with the purpose of attracting prey. The blob fish is a creature that you wonder what God was smoking or shooting up when he decided to create the blob fish. This fish has no bones, and literally just hangs out on the ocean floor and hopes that food comes to its mouth. Whether you want to worship the blob fish for its epic level of laziness or wonder how in the world the species is still in existence with such an apathetic demeanor, it’s still creepy to look at. Then we have the goblin shark, which is pretty much like the underwater version of the alien from the movie “Alien” due to its protruding mouth. The goblin shark has a large snout and needle-like teeth that are sharp and deadly. For a completely random sea creature, we have the Christmas Tree Worms, which really look like tiny walking fir trees that come in different colors. The branches or hair-like appendages help them breathe as well as consume phytoplankton. Then we have the sea pig, which looks nothing like the pigs we have on land. But instead the sea pig is a multi-tubed foot sea creature that is closely related to the sea cucumber. It eats by pulling water and absorbing organic food. Quite innovative, even though it looks creepy. For more creepy sea creatures, check out the rest of the video for more.
