Around 1950, perhaps consistent with the Industrial Revolution and the treatise of World War II, the term "fitness" increased in western vernacular by a factor of ten. Modern definition of fitness describe either a person or machine's ability to perform a specific function or a holistic definition of human adaptability to cope with various situations. This has led to an interrelation of human fitness and attractiveness which has mobilized global fitness and fitness equipment industries. Regarding specific function, fitness is attributed to person who possess significant aerobic or anaerobic ability, i.e. strength or endurance. A holistic definition of fitness is described by Greg Glassman in the CrossFit journal as an increased work capacity across broad times and modal domains; mastery of several attributes of fitness including strength, endurance, power, speed, balance and coordination and being able to improve the amount of work done in a given time with any of these domains. A well rounded fitness program will improve a person in all aspects of fitness, rather than one, such as only cardio/respiratory endurance or only weight training. A comprehensive fitness program tailored to an individual typically focuses on one or more specific skills, and on age- or health-related needs such as bone health. Many sources also cite mental, social and emotional health as an important part of overall fitness. This is often presented in textbooks as a triangle made up of three points, which represent physical, emotional, and mental fitness. Physical fitness can also prevent or treat many chronic health conditions brought on by unhealthy lifestyle or aging. Working out can also help some people sleep better and possibly alleviate some mood disorders in certain individuals. Developing research has demonstrated that many of the benefits of exercise are mediated through the role of skeletal muscle as an endocrine organ. That is, contracting muscles release multiple substances known as myokines which promote the growth of new tissue, tissue repair, and various anti-inflammatory functions, which in turn reduce the risk of developing various inflammatory diseases. Physical fitness is a general state of health and well-being and, more specifically, the ability to perform aspects of sports, occupations and daily activities. Physical fitness is generally achieved through proper nutrition, moderate-vigorous physical exercise, and sufficient rest. Before the industrial revolution, fitness was defined as the capacity to carry out the day’s activities without undue fatigue. However, with automation and changes in lifestyles physical fitness is now considered a measure of the body's ability to function efficiently and effectively in work and leisure activities, to be healthy, to resist hypokinetic diseases, and to meet emergency situations. Shen here the founder of Commitment Triggers and Shen Wade Media where we teach you how to show up as a high value high status woman who easily inspires a deep sense of emotional commitment from men. I get emails all the time from women who tell me a story along the lines of… “I met this great guy, he’s so nice and wonderful. It all happened really fast, he came on really strong and show sooooo much interest… But now he’s gone. I’m heartbroken, I don’t understand, what happened?” And sometimes it’s heartbreaking seeing the situation some of these women get themselves in. What you have to understand is this… Whenever a man comes on strong, it’s because he is in it for himself. He’s not calibrated to your emotions, or the stage and the progress of the relationship, but rather he is going into the relationship focused on what he can get out of it, or what he wants to get out of it. You see, it goes back to biology. It’s a reproductive strategy of men, to come and go very fast. Remember men produce 300 million sperm per day, they have a lot to spare. They’re not the ones having morning sickness and back pain, not to mention the sleepless nights with a crying baby. Men don’t have to go through the often debilitating process of pregnancy and birth, not to mention one of THE most energy intensive tasks in life, child rearing. So men by default can come and go without becoming emotionally attached. They are built this way by default. Of course, there are situations where men do become emotionally attached, and you need to have the awareness and the attunement to know the difference. I come here every day to do some exercise, go for a run, etc. Here in the forest I meet the most interesting people, and that happens again and again - people that love nature, people that love sports, exercise. Today I met a very, very interesting man. He's 75 years old, his name is Valeriy Nikolayevich. So, what happened? I finished my exercise, I was going back home, and I hear someone reading something out loud, reading a book. I come closer, I approach this man, and we ended up having a very interesting conversation for 20 minutes. I didn't have my camera with me. I asked him, - Do you come here every day? I want to record a video with you next time! - Yes, I come here every day! But I couldn't wait, I wanted to record this as soon as possible, so I went back home, and I got my camera, I came back, he was there doing his exercise, practicing his Qigong. Sled Drag :: We've sung the praises of the dragging sled, which is one of the most versatile weapons in any training arsenal. When you load a sled with enough weight, you’ll no longer be able to strike the ground first with your heel, meaning you’ll essentially be walking on the balls of your feet.Do this for multiple trips of 50–60 yards and your calves will soon understand that sleds aren’t just for cardio. 5. Glute Ham Raise:: This machine has become immensely popular of late, but before it ever crossed the Iron Curtain the exercise was known as the glute-ham-gastroc raise for the way it works the gastrocnemius muscle, which along with the soleus forms your calf.If you’re lucky enough to have access to one of these, perform 2–3 sets of as many reps as you can.
