Liopleurodon Just imagine what it’s like to swim alongside a creature that’s many times your size!! Pretty intimidating but still nothing like these guys. The Liopleurodon was one of the largest sea monsters that ever lived. At about 80 feet long, it was the alpha predator in the shallow waters during the late Jurassic period, where it hunted crocodiles and giant fish. 9. Kerygmachela Kierkegaardi The K Kierkegaardi is a strange creature that lived about 540 million years ago, and recent discoveries of their fossils have led to a completely new understanding of how animals’ brains have developed!! 8. Dakosaurus Dakosaurus lived during the Jurassic and Cretaceous eras about 145 million years ago. The species is often referred to as ‘Godzilla’ because of the deep shape of its skull, but it was more like a large crocodile that lived in the saltwater of the oceans. Growing up to 16 feet long, it had paddle shaped flippers to help propel itself through the water, as well as a fluke at the end of its tail to provide extra power. 7. Ichthyosaur Ichthyosaurs lived during the Triassic period until around 90 million years ago, when they mysteriously became extinct- about 25 million years before the event that wiped out the dinosaurs. Meaning ‘fish lizards’, Ichthyosaurs are actually thought to have evolved from a land reptile that moved back into the water, but it’s not yet clear what its precise ancestry is. 6. The Tully Monster If you were asked to design the strangest animal you could, then I bet you wouldn’t come up with something as weird as this odd looking creature, called the Tully Monster. Fossil findings suggest that it lived in the shallow waters of the Eastern United States about 300 million years ago, with remains having been found in the Mazon Creek fossil beds in Illinois. 5. Kronosaurus The Kronosaurus was a short necked pliosaur that lived during the Cretaceous era, just over 100 million years ago. They grew to around 32 feet long, 9 feet of which was its huge head- big enough that it could fit an entire human inside it! Remains have been found in Australia and Colombia, where it would have been the alpha predator of its time. 4. Anomalocaridids If you’re squeamish about creepy crawlies, then this next ancient sea monster is probably going to be your least favourite of all. Anomalocaridids were shrimp-like creatures that, for millions of years, were the largest predators in the oceans. They had soft jointed bodies, and spiny limbs to allow them to catch small prey like worms. 3. Tylosaurus The Tylosaurus- a name which means “knob lizard”, was one of the largest mosasaurs to ever live. They swam in the oceans during the Cretaceous era, about 70 million years ago, and grew to up to 50 feet long. They were different to earlier species of mosasaur that propelled themselves through the water with flippers and, instead, had giant tails that would do all of the work. 2. Luskhan Itilensis The Luskhan Itilensis is a new species of Pliosaur that was only recently identified in 2017 from fossils found 15 years earlier in the Volga river in Russia. Rather than being dinosaurs, they were actually distant relatives of turtles- with 4 large flippers, big heads, powerful jaws, and very sharp teeth. 1. Leedsichthys Growing up to 55 feet long, the Leedsichthys is thought to be the largest fish that has ever lived. (So this answer was actually pretty tricky!!) It’s difficult to know much about it, though, because only fragments of this giant creature have ever been found. At one point is was believed to be twice the size, but even the recent reduction in estimates based on new finds makes it bigger than today’s whale sharks, and by far the biggest bony fish that’s ever been discovered. 5 Prehistoric Animals That Still Live Today!

06:51
In prehistoric times, there were many animals that used to live on Earth, and if they would exist today, they would suppose a true fantasy for many and would surpass by far the fiction. All that prehistoric fauna, today is worthy of any book, movie or science fiction story, where the large dimensions of many species make it incredible to relive them today in an artistic way. However, the prehistoric fauna goes far beyond what is commonly known, and many of these species managed to survive beyond the Jurassic era and that is exactly what we will talk about today, because here we bring you, the 5 prehistoric animals that still exist today. 10 Sea Monsters ATTACKING A Boat!

12:03
Check out these 10 sea monsters attacking a boat! This top 10 list of ocean creatures like whales and great white sharks attacking a ship shows some bizarre stories caught on camera! Subscribe For New Videos! http://goo.gl/UIzLeB Watch our "MYSTERIOUS Creatures Living At The BOTTOM Of The World!" video here: https://youtu.be/Efhjc-Gu508 Watch our "SECRETS Casinos DON'T Want You To Find Out!" video here: https://youtu.be/hAoABuvzOZM Watch our "RAREST And Most EXPENSIVE Cars In The World!" video here: https://youtu.be/MtCnWSqqilg 10. Great White Shark If you’ve been on a boat out on the ocean, a Jaws attack has probably crossed your mind. Even if it’s just barely!! Then of course you rationalize that the chances of that happening are practically 0. Practically. That’s what Terry Selwood, a 73-year-old Australian fisherman learned in 2017, when a great white shark leapt out of the water, into his boat!! 9. An Eagle Ray Rays seem like beautiful, serene creatures - but they can be extremely dangerous, even if you’re on the relative safety of a large tourist boat. In 2011, Jenny Hausch had rented a 26-foot catamaran for her family to take a trip in Florida. Sounds really nice right? 8. Swordfish In 2017, Alan Pope, a British tourist, was on a boat trip getting ready to go snorkeling in Indonesia when everything went horribly wrong. Without any warning, a swordfish jumped out of the water and into the boat, and impaled his neck with its bill. The end snapped off, and left six inches of the sword still jabbed inside his neck, just millimeters from instantly killing him. 7. Sperm Whales The Gulf of Alaska is a prime fishing location, especially for those trying to catch black cod. In these waters, though, there is a much larger creature that also likes eating the fish- sperm whales. They are the ocean’s largest toothed predators, and while they are quite capable of catching food for themselves, they much prefer taking the easy route. 6. Giant Squid Mostly creatures of legend, giant squids are mentioned in many old mariners tales of dangers at sea. But they are rarely seen, let alone involved in attacking boats. So when a team of French sailors came face to face with one in 2003, they almost didn’t believe it!! 5. Bull Shark You might think that a great white shark would be the most problematic shark species to boats, but there’s another type that can be more aggressive, and more likely to risk an encounter. 4. Jellyfish Sometimes it’s the smallest things that can have the biggest effect, something that became ever so apparent in 2017 when Chinese scientists were investigating why their aircraft carriers were experiencing difficulties. They found that large swarms of Jellyfish were getting caught up in the propulsion systems! This would stop the ships dead in their tracks, or cause the engines to overheat and cause extreme damage. 3. Mako Shark This next story took place just last year, 2017 in Long Island, New York. A fishing charter boat was taking guests to the location where they find the widest variety of fish, when suddenly a Mako shark jumped onto the side of the boat. Unfortunately for the fish, it managed to get itself stuck in the handrail of the boat and, despite thrashing about, it couldn’t free itself. 2. Black Marlin Game fishing is a popular pastime for many enthusiasts, but when you’re chasing after some of the largest and most powerful marine creatures on earth, you have to be ready for the unpredictable. Again last year, things went very wrong indeed for a fishing boat off the coast of Panama. They had caught a black marlin, a species that can weight up to 1500 pounds and reach speeds of up to 50 miles per hour. 1. Killer Whale If you’ve ever watched a nature documentary that’s featured Killer Whales, you’ll be all too familiar how organised and clever they can be. Pods work together to catch prey, and even tilt ice flows to trap seals. When they turn these skills towards human activity, the results can be frightening. Most Bizarre Sea Creatures

12:39
From ancient scary sharks … to enormous Sunfish and a tongue-eating parasite … Here are 26 of the most bizarre sea creatures Subscribe to Epic Wildlife http://goo.gl/6rzs5u Let's Connect -- http://www.epicadamwildlife.com/ -- http://www.facebook.com/epicadamwildlife -- http://www.twitter.com/epicwildlife -- http://gplus.to/epicwildlife #10 Hagfish A lot of undersea life has an alien quality to it … and this creature is a definite case in point. Having changed little over some 300 million years, Hagfish have no jaws, and only rudimentary vertebrae. They are known to exude a thick slime when attacked, and can tie themselves into an overhand knot to avoid capture. Thanks to those defense mechanisms, the Hagfish is rarely targeted by predators. #9 Sarcastic Fringehead Measuring about 12 inches long, the unusual looking fish can be highly temperamental and territorial. To defend itself, and animal will expand its huge mouth, then flex and snap its jaws. When two fringeheads have at it, their gaping mouths grapple so closely that they look like they're kissing. #8 Frilled Shark While this animal is fairly well dispersed about the globe, they’re unlikely to been seen … since they usually live more than 4,000 feet deep in the oceans. They’re often cited as living fossils because the eel-like creature have changed very little over some 80 million years. Their mouth contains 300 sharp, triangular teeth, and they have a snake like motion when they strike prey. Did you know it name is a reference to the six pair of gill slits that appear frilled. #7 Blobfish It’s visage is often compared to that of a grumpy old bloke, and little wonder why. While it appears unsavory, the slimy gelatinous skin serves a vital role in the animal’s survival. The blobfish lives at depths of around 4000 feet. Its unusual flesh allow the fish to expend less energy swimming by easily floating above the seafloor. #6 American Anglerfish With a flattened body that enables it to hid on the seafloor camouflaged in sediment until prey passes by the Anglerfish is recognized as an expert ambush predator. The mouth is filled with strong teeth and spines … and is large enough to trap prey larger than itself. #5 Harp Sponge It doesn’t seem obvious at first glance, but this actually a carnivorous creature that was found more than 11,000 feet deep off the coast of California. The sponge has branching limbs with barbed hooks that can ensnare prey, usually small crustaceans. Its unusual form is thought to be an adaptation to a deep sea environment. #4 Stargazer DId you know these creatures are sometimes referred to as the ‘meanest things in creation’? It’s not just due to their scary appearance … it’s also due to some scary abilities. All species are venomous, while select species are known to administer electric shocks to ward off predators. And their scary appearance serves a purpose. While it doesn't necessary scare off aggressors, their top-mounted eyes allow them to stay buried in the sandy sea floor until prey passes by overhead. #3 Hoodwinker Sunfish (thumb) In case you were wondering, no … the picture does not show an eccentric chef that has created a strange colored pancake on the beach. And even though it appears to have been run over by a steamroller, the flattened appearance is typical for the Ocean Sunfish. It’s also known as the Mola Mola, and is known for its massive size … on average weighing more than 2,200 pounds and measuring more than 8 feet from fin to fin. In 2014, a previously unknown species of the creature was discovered on a beach in New Zealand. This one is larger than other species of sunfish, weighing around 4,000 pounds and measuring 10 feet long. Even though it’s bigger, this species actually has a slimmer and sleeker build. While it’s also known as the Mola Tecta, the research team that discovered it called it the Hoodwinker Sunfish because the creature proved so difficult to locate. Did you know that this is the first species of sunfish to be identified in around 130 years? #2 Goblin Shark This critter has become something of a fan favorite on Epic Wildlife, so we’d be remiss to omit it. It’s best known feature is its mouth -- one of the scariest in the entire animal kingdom. They can catch prey with their razor sharp teeth by popping their jaws out of their mouths. It’s an unforgettable sight, and one that often draws comparison to the Xenomorph in Alien. Dwelling in frigid waters some 4000 feet deep, experts say they belong to a family that dates back around 125 million years. #1 Pacific Lampreys This sea creature looks like it was custom-made for a horror movie. Lampreys are among the most primitive of extant vertebrates remaining mostly unchanged over some 380 million years. Their scary mouths will clamp the lamprey onto larger fish (and even sperm whales) as a parasite to feed on blood and other bodily fluids.

Diver's Encounter With Mysterious 26-Foot Sea Creature

02:41
From the video, the amorphous blob seems to stretch on for a mile as it snakes through the water, dwarfing the two divers who surround it. For 47-year-old videographer Steve Hathaway, the Oct. 25 sighting near a small, volcanic island located about 30 miles off New Zealand's most northern point, put an end to a search that lasted more than a decade. "I've always wanted to see one," Hathaway said in an interview Wednesday discussing the 26-foot-long #pyrosome - a colony of tiny sea animals that link together into a free-floating mass. Their mysterious features and #bioluminescent glow have caused some scientists to dub them the "bizarre unicorns of the sea. They reportedly feel "like an exquisitely soft feather boa." "I was beyond excited, this is like finding something that you've dreamed of for so many years," said. Although they're often described as wormlike creatures, pyrosomes are actually more closely related to humans. Some of the earliest reports of pyrosomes came from sailors in the 1800s who noticed their bright glow while sailing. Hathaway said he and his friend, Andrew Buttle, were shooting underwater footage for a promotional video about New Zealand's White Island when they encountered the sea creature. Buttle's family has owned the island since the 1930s, which contains an active volcano and diverse flora and fauna. Even though the bulk of his 11-year filming career has taken place underwater - and he's swam with animals such as whales - Hathaway said he'd never encountered a pyrosome of any size until that moment. When he became aware that one was lying on the ocean floor beneath him, he knew he had to move quickly to film it. "I've been underwater a lot and I've seen a lot of animals," he said. "I know nature waits for nobody, and I couldn't let this opportunity pass me by." Hathaway said Springtime on the island brings an abundance of phytoplankton, which pyrosomes feed upon, possibly explaining the reason he encountered one now. "The fish in general get bigger at White Island than they do in other places in New Zealand," said Hathaway, a lifelong New Zealand resident. "The location is rich in food for animals around the island." Linsey Sala, a scientist at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography in California, said that while not all pyrosomes grow to be the size of the one Hathaway encountered, some found near New Zealand and Australia can "get quite large," in some cases reaching up to more than 45 and 60 feet long. Pyrosomes are comprised of thousands of smaller individual beings, called zooids, which help the pyrosome feed and navigate the ocean via jet propulsion, Sala said. Though pyrosome sightings are not necessarily rare, they typically are seen by divers and other people who spend a lot of time in the water. "I would say it's remarkable and exciting to come across a pyrosome colony that size," Sala said. Fascinated by the world's oceans as a young boy, Hathaway said he would read stories of people embarking on oceanic adventures with a sense of envy, and was particularly fascinated by the marlin, which "he used to have dreams about." He went on to found Young Ocean Explorers, an entertainment and storytelling platform for children that encourages them to love the oceans and marine life. Hathaway said he hopes catching the pyrosome on video will spark an interest for others, similar to how images of marlins intrigued him as a child. "It's always been about wanting to go see these things for myself and then sharing them with others," Hathaway said. "Even the most articulate person in the world couldn't describe that creature that we filmed."

BIGGEST Sea Creatures Around The World!

10:56
Check out the biggest sea creatures around the world! This top 10 list of largest ocean animals on earth features some crazy monsters lurking in the deep sea! Subscribe For New Videos! http://goo.gl/UIzLeB Watch our "Most TERRIFYING Sea Monsters Ever!" video here: https://youtu.be/B9aPB6KB504 Watch our "CREEPY Fish From The Deep Sea!" video here: https://youtu.be/IjbRmTvO1_g Watch our "Most MYSTERIOUS Ocean Facts!" video here: https://youtu.be/BzrlpgRVPQg 10.) Fin Whale The fin whale is the second largest creature on Earth after the blue whale. It has been severely affected by commercial whaling and now it is rare to see one. If you have seen one, consider yourself lucky! They can grow as long as 89 feet (27 m) in length and can weigh between 40 to 80 tons! The maximum ever recorded weighed in at 114 tons!! They can live to be over 100 years old if left alone. The fin whale’s body is built for speed and it can even go faster than the fastest ocean steamship. It’s capable of speeds of up to 37 km/h but can go short bursts of even 47 km/h, earning it the nickname “greyhound of the sea”. Fin Whales have a very unique coloring with the right underside of their jaw, right lip, and the right side of their baleen being a yellowish-white, while the left-side is gray, making them look asymmetrical. Fun fact, fin whales and blue whales make the lowest frequency sounds of any animals. When they were first recorded by submarines, scientists thought they were tectonic plates grinding. Kind of makes you wonder about what is causing other mysterious ocean sounds! 9.) Portuguese Man of War While this is often considered a jellyfish, the Portuguese man-of-war is actually not an “it” but a “they”! It is made up of a colony of organisms called polyps that work together known as a siphonophore. While the tentacles can extend 165 feet (50 m), the average is about 30 feet (9 m) long. Still nothing to scoff at!! Also known as “the floating terror”, their body is between 5 inches to a foot wide (13 cm- 130 cm). They are usually found in groups of about a thousand or more, and have no independent means of movement. They either drift on the currents or catch the wind, so even though you should be super careful of jellyfish, they aren’t ever out to get you on purpose! The tentacles on a man-of-war are extremely venomous and very painful if you get stung but they are rarely deadly. The venom is typically used to paralyze their prey, such as small fish and other smaller creatures. Also keep in mind that a man-of-war does not need to be alive in order to give off a powerful sting, even if it has washed up on shore and looks dead, it can still sting you! The Portuguese man-of-war floats around the Atlantic Ocean, as well as the Indian and Pacific. So keep an eye out if you are swimming around these areas! 8.) Giant Clam The giant clam is the largest living bivalve mollusk on earth. (Bivalve mollusks include clams, oysters, and mussels). Native to the warm waters of Australia's Great Barrier Reef, giant clams are capable of growing an average of 4 feet (1 m) in length and weighing close to 500 pounds (250 kg)! However, some species of clams have been known to grow as long as 6 feet. The large majority of a giant clam’s mass is in its shell, with the soft parts accounting for only approximately 10% of the weight. Giant clams are now endangered because they apparently are also quite delicious and have been hunted for centuries for its healthy protein. The giant clam has one chance to find its perfect home because once it chooses its spot, it stays there for the rest of its life. They can live up to 100 years or more, as long as they are in the wild. Most of the giant clams you see today have been raised in captivity and are really popular in large aquariums. Giant clams achieve their enormous proportions by consuming the sugars and proteins produced by the billions of algae that live in their tissues. This symbiotic relationship protects the algae and they are responsible for the unique coloration. No two giant clams are alike! 7.) Great White Shark According to National Geographic, great white sharks are the largest predatory fish in the world. They grow to an average of 15 feet (4.6 m) in length. However, there have been some who have grown to 20 feet (6 m) in length! In fact, the largest Great White Shark ever recorded in the wild was estimated to be 26 feet long, which is more than half the length of a basketball court. Combine this with a bunch of teeth, and this is why people get so scared. They are known to weigh up to 5,000 pounds (2268 kg). The heaviest Great White Shark ever recorded in the wild was estimated to weigh in at a whopping 7,328 pounds. . Sea creatures you never knew existed. These animals lived in the deepest parts of the ocean & you should be glad that these fish are extinct. Support our Patreon today: https://www.patreon.com/theywillkillyou Subscribe for new videos: http://goo.gl/SaufF4 Follow us on Instagram: @theywillkillyou Voiceover by Carl Mason: [email protected] 12 The Dumbo octopus The Dumbo octopus is a species of octopi that resembles the title character of the Disney film. It has prominent ear-like fins making it look like a baby elephant’s head. The Dumbo octopus lives at depths of over 13,000 feet below sea level. They grow to almost 6ft in length and weigh up to 13 pounds. 11 Ocean Sunfish The ocean sunfish is the heaviest bony fish in the world, weighing between 545 and 2,205 pounds. Living on a diet of sea jellies and small fish, which it has to consume in very large quantities because of their poor nutritional value. 10 Humpback Anglerfish The humpback anglerfish, also known as the humpback black devil, lives at depths ranging from 800 to 13,000 feet below the ocean’s surface. They have black soft bodies and large heads, widened mouths and long pointed teeth. Females are capable of eating prey even larger than themselves. 9 Amphipoda Amphipoda is an order of crustaceans that range in size from 0.03 inches to 13.4 inches. Their bodies are laterally compressed and have no carapace. The most interesting thing about amphipods is their feeding behavior. There are more than 9.900 species, and some are flesh-eating scavengers. Amphipods have two front pairs of legs with large claws. 8 Sarcastic Fringehead The sarcastic fringehead is a small fish with a large Predator-like mouth and aggressive territorial behavior. It can only grow up to 12 inches long and lives in the Pacific, off the coast of North America, from San Francisco, California to central Baja California. 7 Pelican eel The Pelican eel, also known as the gulper eel, has a very large mouth which it can open wide enough to swallow bigger fish. Gulper eels live at extreme depths from 1,600 to almost 10,000 ft. 6 Pacific Viperfish The Pacific viperfish lives in the abyssal depths of the deep sea and is easily recognized by its large open mouth. It’s a predatory fish that can reach lengths of 1 foot and it has an iridescent dark silver body. Pacific viperfish cannot close their mouths due to their very large fang-like teeth which they use to trap their prey with. They also have a light or gone located at the end of their dorsal fin rays. 5 Abyssal ghostsharks Pointy-nosed blue chimaeras or more commonly known as abyssal ghostsharks are sea creatures that live in temperate ocean floors down to 6,500 feet deep. They are believed to be some of the oldest fish in existence, as they branched off from sharks nearly 400 million years ago. 4 Stargazer Fish Stargazers are a family of fish that camouflage themselves in the sand on the ocean floor and attack when a fish swims by. Their eyes are mounted on the top of their heads and they have upward facing mouths. Stargazers have two large venomous spines located above their pectoral fins and some species can also cause electric shock. Their way of attacking other fish combined with their ability to cause electric shock and the fact that they also have venomous spines, have caused some to refer to stargazers as “the meanest things in creation”. 3 Immortal Jellyfish The immortal jellyfish is a species of biologically undying jellyfish. It’s found in the Mediterranean Sea and the waters of Japan and has no maximum lifespan. It begins life as a larva and settles down to the sea floor, where it gives rise to a colony of polyps. Each polyp and jellyfish arising from a single larva is a genetically identical clone. The polyps morph into an extensively branched form. Jellyfish then bud off the polyps and continue their life in a free-swimming form. 2 Water Bears Water bears are micro-animals that resemble bears and are believed to be the toughest and most resilient animals on the planet. They can survive incredibly harsh conditions such as exposure to extreme temperatures or pressures, radiation, air deprivation, dehydration and even starvation. They can go without food or water for more than 30 years. Their barrel-shaped bodies usually only grow up to 0.02 inches long and have four pairs of legs, each with four to eight claws. 1 Sea Spiders The sea spider is not really an arachnid, but a marine arthropod. It got the name from its eerie resemblance to a spider. It has eight long legs and a small body. Most species of sea spiders are so small that each of their muscles consists of only one cell. They’re most common in shallow waters where they’re usually found walking along the bottom.

AMAZING Recently Discovered Species

09:20
You’d think by now we’ve done a pretty good job at cataloguing all of the species in the world, but we’re far from done! Scientists believe there are around 8.7 million species in the world, with between 1 and 2 million of those being animals. And it’s thought the vast majority have not even been documented yet. 2017 saw a number of fascinating new discoveries, and we’ll touch on some of them today. Subscribe to Talltanic http://goo.gl/wgfvrr 10 - Not for human consumption… Don’t let the name Churro mislead you, there is nothing tasty about this new marine worm that was discovered in the Gulf of California in 2017. They’ve called it Churro because of the striking resemblance to a Churro, the delicious fried-dough pastry dessert that is dipped into sweet sauces. This worm is between 4 and 10 inches and feeds off molluscs like clams. 9 - Feeling Blue... I would be too if faced with this bright blue tarantula that was discovered in Guyana. It doesn’t even have a name yet, that’s how new it is! It was spotted by Andrew Snyder, who says his flashlight bounced off something very blue, which he thought was just a reflection. When he went closer, he was really surprised to see the bright blue legs of the spider. Firstly, this is the first blue tarantula found in South America, as they’re usually found in Southeast Asia, and secondly, this one was living in a colony, which is very unusual for spiders. 8 - 5 a day… If you’re brave, you can add this bizarre fruit to yours! It’s the obscure relative of the tomato, and it was discovered in Australia. This fruit has been known to botanists for 50 years already, but it was only described officially in 2017. 7th graders helped name this weird fruit the deathly fruit, and when cut open, the flesh of the fruit changes from whitish green to blood red and then matures into a dry, white bony state. The fruit looks very unappetising, and I doubt it’s going to be flying off the shelves anytime soon! 7 - Blooming marvellous… A new species of orchid was found last year, called the devil orchid aka Telipogon diabolicus. This orchid is a fusion of male and female flower parts and as you can see, looks a lot like the head of the devil! This plant is only found in a certain area of Columbia, which is currently threatened by reconstruction. 6 - Now you see me… Now you don’t! You’re aware of how lizards drop their tails in order to escape a predator, but this newly discovered gecko takes things a little further. This creature is covered with overlapping scales, and when it’s in trouble, has the ability to shed those scales and make a quick, naked getaway. Within a few weeks, those scales have grown back and the gecko is ready for action once again. 5 - Down Under… We head down 13,000 feet below the surface of the Pacific Ocean to meet a new species of sponge that was confirmed in 2017. Plenaster craigi have been found in 2013 and 2015, and it was just last year that it was confirmed as an official new species. It was discovered in the Clarion-Clipperton Zone, and live on metal-rich nodules that are common in that area. 4 - Look familiar? Pictured here is the Arcella gandalfi, and if you’ve watched Lord of the Rings, you’ll know why it got that name. These freshwater amoebas were rumoured to exist in Brazil, but they’ve only recently been discovered and confirmed to be real. Considering they’re a single cell organism, these amoeba’s are quite big, measuring 81 micrometers in diameter and 71 micrometers in height. 3 - Pretty in Pink… This is the Pink Floyd pistol shrimp, a new species of snapping shrimp found in the waters off the Pacific coast of Panama. Pink Floyd happened to be one of the favourite bands of the scientists who discovered it. As if the neon pink claw wasn’t strange enough, this crazy shrimp can kill its prey with noise! The snap of that giant claw is loud and powerful that it creates cavitation bubbles, which then burst into the prey, either stunning them or killing them. The sound reaches levels of 210 decibels, which is louder than a gunshot! 2 - No lazing around… An ancient giant sloth fossil was also found in 2017, hidden in an underwater cave in the jungle of the Yucatán in Mexico. This area is not known for many fossil finds, because the humid environment tends to destroy any traces of bones. Vicente Fito went diving in a limestone cave in 2009 where he made this remarkable discovery. He gave the bones to the National Institute of Anthropology and History in Mexico, where they’ve spent all this time piecing everything together. This new species of sloth is thought to weigh around 500-pounds! Apparently the oldest sloth fossil ever found is roughly 9 million years old, and was found in Argentina. 1...

"Almost Biblical In Scale": Tens of Thousands of Dead Sea Creatures Wash Up on British Beach

02:37
When British photographer Lara Maiklem heard tens of thousands of sea creatures washed up on a beach near her hometown of Kent, England, over the weekend she had to see the scene for herself. So, she woke her 5-year-old twins in time to catch the tide. Maiklem described the scene as "shocking" and "sad," but at the same time, she had to admit it was an "incredible" sight. In fact, it was "almost biblical in scale," she added. RAREST Sea Creatures In The World

08:28
We feel lucky to have been able to spot these oddities of the sea. Some of them are beautiful and stunning, and some of them are downright the stuff of nightmares. We’re bringing you the rarest sea creatures ever captured and found by scientists across the world. Here are 12 of the rarest sea creatures in the world. Subscribe to Talltanic http://goo.gl/wgfvrr #9: Goblin Shark The second “living fossil” on this list, with their lineage tracing back to over 125 million years old. With lengths of 10 to 13 feet long, they can be found around 330 feet deep in the ocean. With all that said, these sharks are terrifying. With jaws that can protrude to catch their prey, these things look like something straight out a nightmare. The appearance of these creatures could keep anyone out of the water and have them running for the hills. #8: Tongue-Eating Louse Excuse us...the what?! You heard us correctly, the tongue-eating louse. These parasitic isopods are can get up to an inch long, and are the most terrifying parasites in the ocean. These creatures slip in through a fish's gills and attach itself to the tongue of the fish. After slowly severing the blood vessels, the tongue eventually falls off and the parasite becomes the fish's tongue. While serving as a non threat to humans, these nightmarish creatures are one of the most gruesome bottom feeders . of the sea. #7: Vampire Squid Yeah, we aren’t making this up. This vampiric cephalopod is found within extreme deep-sea conditions and is nicknamed because of its barbaric form of hunting. Getting up to be a foot long, these squids are armored down to the tentacle. Rows of spiny and sharp projectiles line the inside of tentacles and are used to capture and constrict prey. Although the squid doesn’t intake blood as their main source of food, their appearance surely earned them their nickname. #6: Basket Star Although not as terrifying or as ugly as some of our other entries on this list, this is one of the prettier ones. Basket Stars are a type of starfish that inhabit the deepest parts of the sea. That’s uh….that’s really all they do. Besides having intricately long and oddly beautiful arms, that’s all they do. They do have an impressively long lifespan of 35 years and weigh up to 11 pounds. They are the longest of their species, reach up to 70 centimeters long. Another interesting fact about the Basket Star is that they do not have any blood in their system. Instead of having blood, the starfish instead achieve gas exchange through their water vascular system. #5: Blue-Ringed Octopus It’s a rule of thumb that any animal with bright colors is venomous, and we thought it only pertained to land animals. Oh, how wrong we were. Regarded as one of the most venomous marine creatures in existence, they occupy the tide pools and coral reefs of the Pacific and Indian Oceans. Although this species is quite small, only growing to be five to eight inches in length, these octopi are docile in nature. If threatened and harmed, the octopus can release enough toxins to kill twenty-six adult humans in minutes. The venom can result in nausea, respiratory arrest, heart failure, severe and total paralysis, blindness, and death. Oh, did we mention there isn’t an antivenom yet? But if treated immediately, patients can recover in up to twenty-four hours. #4: Leafy Seadragon One of the prettier entries on this list, this harmless seahorse species is a feat to see. Covered with small appendages that look like seaweed leaves, it has one of the most clever disguises. If there is a predator nearby, the leafy seadragon will instead hold completely still and act as a drifting piece of seaweed. Talk about hiding in plain sight. #3: This crustacean is found 7,200 feet below the surface of the ocean. Nicknamed the “yeti crab” or the “yeti lobster” because of its body and claws which are covered in long, blonde silky hairs. Those hairs are often used to detoxify the waters around them since their habitats are often surrounded by hydrothermal vents which emit toxic minerals. #2: Giant Squid No list is complete without the mention of the once mythological giant squid. Although this myth was debunked in 2004 in Japan, people had thought this legendary beast was only word of mouth. Measuring in lengths of up to 43 feet, the longest giant squid was recorded to be 46 feet long. Although there have been debates about whether or not there were more than one species, scientists collectively agree that there are only one species of giant squid. Considered harmless, you don’t have to worry about being attacked by a giant squid while swimming around in the ocean. Although a creature that size is big enough to make anyone step foot in the water. 1...

The ancient prehistoric sea monster that had armour for skin. We take a look at the incredible sea monster that had armour for skin. Dunkleosteus was a fearsome predator. Dunkleosteus is a fish which lived approximately 380 to 360 million years ago during the Late Devonian Period. This creature would have been one of the most ferocious creatures of all time. It was probably one of the largest fishes of its time, being 30 feet long and weighing in excess of 3 tons. Thank you for watching! Thank you to CO.AG for the background music!

12 Most EPIC Deep Sea Creatures On Earth!

10:48
The most epic underwater creatures! These are the most scary fish and deep water creatures in the world and the weird sea creatures and scariest deep sea creatures on Earth! #9. “Giant Clam”--The Giant Clam doesn’t dwell too deep in the sea as it prefers warmer waters, like those found in Australia’s Great Barrier Reef but it is one of the most epic creatures on the planet. As the biggest mollusk ever discovered, Giant Clams have been found weighing over 500 pounds and over 4 feet wide. In order to keep their gargantuan bodies nourished they use their forceful siphon to slurp up unsuspecting plankton. They supplement their diet with proteins and glucose excreted by the algae that live on and inside them. This diet must be working to great effect as giant clams can live to be well over one-hundred years old. Though they are generally harmless to humans there are many cultures that have legends involving giant clams that are big enough to suck people into their siphons. #8. “Barreleye”-- Unique to say the least, the Barreleye Fish that roam the eastern Pacific ocean at depths upwards of 3,000 feet look like an alien submarine that was made out of a fish. Though it sports bioluminescent organs throughout its entire body (which averages half a foot in length) it’s the Barreleye’s transparent head that makes it a bizarre spectacle. This fascinating product of deep-sea evolution, needs its head to be transparent as it has no eyeholes. Its upward facing eyes are located completely inside the animals body but are able to see using bioluminescence to light up the ocean outside the clear dome. The Barreleye has two large nostrils above its mouth that are often mistaken for eyes and when seen as such make it look like a depressed dolphin. Barreleyes feed mainly on jellyfish and other small creatures that it sneaks up on from underneath. #7. “Goblin Shark”-- The goblin shark is truly the stuff of nightmares as it looks as though a swordfish and shark had an ugly baby, with a long snout above a gnarly tooth-filled mouth. These sharks are another odd species that are believed to have lived deep in the ocean since prehistoria. These rare sharks are mainly found off of Japan’s western coast and can grow up to almost 500 pounds with an average length of around 10 feet. Goblin sharks owe their name to the big-nosed goblins of Japanese folktales which they bear an uncanny resemblance to. Their diet consists mainly of squid which they snatch with their jaws that can extend over 3 inches from their bodies, only adding to the shark’s ugly terror-inducing visage.

Science Can't Explain What's Happening In 2018... Description: Weird and strange things seem to happen on a daily basis, and if it weren’t for video cameras and the internet we would probably never see most of them. But of course you don’t have to fret because everyone here at Top 5 Supreme is committed to bringing you the best content around! Today is no different as we bring you an extra special video called Science Can’t Explain What’s Happening in 2018! As always, make sure you watch til the end because number 1 will certainly surprise you! Before we get started with today’s video don’t forget to click the bell to get notified every single day with the best Top’s you’ll ever see. Also, don’t forget to subscribe to this channel. So let’s get rolling! #5 Mysterious Sea Creature In May of 2018 one of the largest and mysterious looking animals ever discovered washed onto the shore on a beach in the Philippines, and you’ve got to see this. The animal, or whatever this was, came in at over 20 feet long, and some said that it had a very undeniable and unbelievable smell. Some locals took this sighting as a very negative sign of things to come, with a few even claiming that this animal is a sign of impending danger – possibly even an apocalypse. Some researchers however simply contend that this was just the carcass of a large, known, sea animal, yet haven’t been able to say what it was for sure. Interesting. Let us know what you think this could be in the comment section. #4 Ghost Ships A strange thing has been happening in Japan over the last few years. Mysterious ships, or ghost ships as some experts have labeled them, have been drifting towards the coast. Researchers are saying that the ghost ships are coming from North Korea, though no one knows whether or not that’s true. This is especially creepy because just last year 104 more of these ghost ships, or vessels discovered with no living crew on board, were found on Japan’s shores just last year. The most disturbing part is that most of the boats were found with multiple dead bodies on it. Without knowing exactly where the ships are coming from, and with North Korea and Japan not having the happiest of diplomatic relationships, Japan’s efforts to return the ships to their senders has proven to be a difficult task. #3 Wessex Way Monster Earlier this year some very strange tape was sent in, and according to multiple experts it appears that the famed Wessex Way Monster was caught on film. The footage was caught on the A338 Road in southern England, and what appears on time is startling. In the video you can see what appears to be a humanoid creature galloping, using his forearms as some sort of legs or feet, and scurries across the road. According to the locals of this area, this particular stretch of freeway runs more than 20 miles in a pure wooded area, with many people claiming to see or hear of some sort of monster in local folklore. #2 Barrier Islands Earlier this year, in the state of Georgia, a very weird and mysterious sea animal washed up onto the shore at the Wolf Island National Wildlife Refuge. Experts in the area have stated that this crazy looking sea monster could be 1 of several different animals, and didn’t rule out the possibility that this could be a brand new species that we’ve never even seen before. If you have any thoughts of what it could be, go ahead and let us know your opinion in the comment section below. #1 3 Fingered Mummy Earlier this year one of the most historic discoveries of all time was made. A British researcher believes that he may have found a new species of human after completing a bunch of scientific tests on a mummy that’s over 1800 years old. The 3 fingered mummy is said to be 98.5 percent primate, with 1.5 percent of it’s makeup left as just ‘unknown’. This could be a groundbreaking discovery, and we’ll be sure to keep you up to date on what new comes out of this. And that’s today’s video! GREENLAND SHARK The general consensus within the scientific community is that the Greenland shark can live for several hundred years, making it the longest-living vertebrate on the planet. How many centuries it can live, however, is a topic of debate. 7. RED SEA URCHIN The red sea urchin is known for being “almost immortal.” In 2003, a US research team from Oregon and California found that the small, spiny creature can last for more than 200 years with few signs of age-related disease. The animal uses its spine to deter predators and grows to more than 15 centimeters across. 6. HYDRA If you were impressed by the several-hundred-year lifespan of the first two creatures, you’ll be blown away by how long scientists believe the hydra can live. Hydra are spindly, freshwater polyps that, according to some research, may be able to live forever. 5. KOI FISH On average, Koi live anywhere from 25 to 30 years. According to some reports, however, they can live for much longer than that - perhaps 200 years or more! “Hanako,” a famous scarlet Koi from Japan that died in 1977, lived to be 226 years old. 4. GALAPAGOS GIANT TORTOISE The Galapagos Giant Tortoise can live to be well over 100 years old, with the oldest on record having lived to the age of 152. In addition to being one of the world’s longest living species, the Galapagos Giant Tortoise is the largest tortoise species, reaching up to five feet in length and weighing up to 550 pounds. 3. ARCTICA ISLANDICA Known more commonly as the ocean quahog, this Icelandic species of edible clam is native to icy waters of the North Atlantic and carries a typical life expectancy of 405-410 years. The oldest one discovered so far, nicknamed “Ming,” was estimated to be around 507 years old. 2. IMMORTAL JELLYFISH Found in the Mediterranean Sea and the waters around Japan, the immortal jellyfish is a species of small jellyfish that are, well - biologically immortal. What does this mean, exactly? Well, they’re capable of reverting back to a sexually immature stage after having reached sexual maturity. It’s almost as if, instead of dying, they somehow go back in time and become young again. Wouldn’t that be nice? 1. SPONGES Now let’s take a look at the oldest-known animal life. In trying to determine when animal life as we know it first emerged on Earth, scientists looked at preserved chemicals from their bodies that were found in ancient rocks. These ancient chemical traces are called biomarkers and reveal that sometime between 635 million and 650 million years ago, sponges were already around, making them the oldest-known form of animal life.

10 Animals That Were Recently Discovered

12:03
► Subscribe: https://goo.gl/vHN6qB For copyright matters please contact us at: [email protected] The animal kingdom is diverse and fascinating, and there are many different versions of the same species all over the planet. In some areas, such as the deepest reaches of the Amazon Rainforest, we know very little about all the creatures that exist there. And while us humans tend to think of ourselves as the masters of our world, it cannot be denied that there are many weird and wonderful things on Planet Earth of which we are simply unaware. That’s why everyone becomes so excited when we discover a new plant or animal species. Recently scientists have discovered new species of wasp, shark, ape, and even new animals descended from Dinosaurs! With that in mind, here are 10 amazing animals that have only been discovered in recent years. Squalus Clarkae Also known as the “Genie’s Dogfish,” this tiny member of the shark family, specifically the dogfish shark, grows just 20 to 28 inches long. Found in the deep waters of the Gulf of Mexico, this dainty predator has huge, anime-like eyes which are perfect for seeing in the deep, dark waters. Calistoga Crassicaudata Despite being just 9.8 millimeters long, this species of parasitic wasp is native to the Amazon, and is one of the most nightmarish creatures on this list. Its stinger is about half the length of its tiny body and is also an “ovipositor.” This means that that stinger also deposits eggs, along with a paralytic toxin into the wound it creates. Caelestiventus Hanseni This entry has been, thankfully, discovered post extinction. If you think we’re cruel for saying this, just wait until you hear about C.Hanseni! C. Hanseni was, in fact, a breed of Giant Pterosaur which sported no less than 110 teeth and 4 seriously wicked fangs. The scientists responsible for discovering it estimate that it may have had a wingspan of around 4.9 feet and fangs 2.5 centimeters in length. Mansourasaurus shahinae The second ancient discovery on our list is less carnivorous, but no less terrifying for its vegetarian nature. The Mansourasaurus was found in Egypt by archeologists in late 2017. This sauropod was long-necked, long-tailed, and the size of a modern-day bus! What makes this discovery so exciting? Dendrocerus Scutellaris Another member of the wasp family which has been discovered in recent years, D.Scutellaris is also a parasitic wasp that seems to have cut its way straight from a scary movie. Like it’s cousin C.Crassicaudata, this wasp lays eggs inside of a host. The larvae then hatch and, well you get the rest. Despite this, D.Scutellaris lacks the strong, pointy jaws that most endoparasitoid wasps use to chew their way free. Tardigrades Lovers of weird and wonderful animals will already know about the famously sturdy Tardigrade or as its sometimes called “water bear”. This tiny microscopic creature can survive in extreme cold down to negative -328 degrees Fahrenheit and extreme heat up to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. In fact, they can even survive in the intense radiation and crushing vacuum of space! Talk about a super-creature, right? Shastasaurid The creatures of the world’s oceans remain more mysterious than even the surface of the moon; deep dwelling animals are still being discovered, today, and so it is little surprise that we are still becoming aware of now extinct species. Junzi Imperialis The burials of ancient Chinese royals were very often flamboyant and outlandish affairs which displayed the wealth and importance of the person through the goods they were buried with. Even still, archaeologists were surprised to find the remains of an extinct and ancient member of the Gibbon family within the burial menagerie of the grandmother of China’s first Emperor. The Bryant Shark Thanks to recent movies and media, the public is more aware of ancient sea life than ever before. Jurassic World, and The Meg have brought huge, sea-dwelling dinos into the public eye. But while we know about the infamous Megalodon, the largest shark to ever exist, few are aware of the ongoing search for one of its ancestors Orthrozanclus Elongata With an armored back and spikes lining its sides, this 515-million-year-old critter would probably give most people a nasty scare if they were to see it in person. The cocktail-stick-like spikes on its back were longer than the creature was wide and extended like sunbursts. Discoverer Dr. Martin Smith remarks that this would have made them look rather like a cuddly cactus. We hope you enjoyed this video! Let us know which one of these animals was your favorite. Mutant human-like sea creature found on a beach in China - TomoNews

07:38
CHINA — In recently released footage that has quickly gained popularity online, some people in China are seen finding an odd creature at the beach. People who were strolling by the sea stumbled upon the unidentified object floating along the shore. At first they were scared and did not want to approach the spongy body, but a man eventually picked it up to take a picture. The humanoid creature, which seems to possess a head and limbs, started moving the likeness of its feet. Footage of the find soon gained popularity online. Internet users started speculating about the monstrous thing's true nature. Some viewers suggested it could be come kind of mutated sea sponge or a new species of starfish. Most people remained skeptical and expressed doubts about the veracity of the footage. According to the YouTube channel that first published the footage, acclaimed cryptozoologist Karl Shuker asserted it was likely a mass of sponge. 10:14
Fishing results in some lucky catches and some strange discoveries. Here are 10 weird looking fish caught by Russian fisherman Roman Fedortsov. Subscribe for more amazing videos! ► http://bit.ly/Subscribe-to-Richest ◄ You might assume that fishermen have pretty boring jobs. They spend hours out at sea, often in solitude, trying their best to pull up piles of cod to supply us all with dinner for the next few weeks. Sure, they have a nice view of the ocean, but not many people would say that being a fisherman is an exciting job. But we’re here today to prove you wrong, because fisherman Roman Fedortsov has made a hobby out of pulling some of the creepiest looking creatures from out of the ocean. Whether he was looking to find them or not, some of these fish are so strange that it's hard to know what they truly are. Either way, these aquatic creatures are all made up of features that make us want to stay far away from them. 85 million-year-old sea monster found in Kansas

01:35
Popularized in the hit movie "Jurassic World," the mosasaur has come back to life after an 85 million-year-old fossil of a newborn creature was discovered in Kansas. A "neonate-sized Tylosaurus specimen" (a type of mosasaur), has been identified and examined, with researchers looking at broken bones, including its snout, braincase and upper jaw. "Despite its small size, a suite of cranial characters diagnoses FHSM VP-14845 [the fossil's identification] as a species of Tylosaurus, including the elongate basisphenoid morphology," the study's abstract reads. JURASSIC-ERA MONSTER PREDATORS FLOURISHED DURING EXTREME CLIMATE CHANGE 150M YEARS AGO The creature, which could grow up to 42 feet when it reached adulthood, had an "estimated skull length of 30 [centimeters]," indicating its neonatal state. It was found in the Smoky Hill Chalk Member of western Kansas in 1991, LiveScience reports, but it was originally identified as a Platecarpus, a genus that could grow to almost 20 feet in length. this article you can find it in : https://www.foxnews.com/science/85-million-year-old-sea-monster-found-in-kansas thanx for watching

Minecraft is an online virtual playground and workshop, where kids of all ages can safely interact, create, have fun, and learn. It’s unique in that practically everything on Minecraft is designed and constructed by members of the community. Minecraft is designed for 8 to 18 year old, but it is open to people of all ages. Each player starts by choosing an avatar and giving it an identity. They can then explore Minecraft — interacting with others by chatting, playing games, or collaborating on creative projects. Each player is also given their own piece of undeveloped real estate along with a virtual toolbox with which to design and build anything — be it a navigable skyscraper, a working helicopter, a giant pinball machine, a multiplayer “Capture the Flag” game or some other, yet to be dreamed-up creation. There is no cost for this first plot of virtual land. By participating and by building cool stuff, Minecraft members can earn speciality badges as well as Minecraft dollars (“Minecraft”). In turn, they can shop the online catalogue to purchase avatar clothing and accessories as well as premium building materials, interactive components, and working mechanisms.
10 Mysterious Creatures Discovered In The DEEP SEA

10 creepy aliens discovered in the deep depths of the ocean. Subscribe to our channel: http://goo.gl/9CwQhg For copyright matters please contact us at: [email protected] It’s no secret that the ocean is one of the most common phobias. The ocean encompasses all of humanity’s most primal fears. It’s gigantic, dark, mysterious, and is capable of ending your life in a million different ways. Oh, and it’s filled with creepy creatures. Though we know all about the cute, friendly animals, it’s the deep-sea creatures that inspire fear in the hearts of many. The deeper one goes, the creepier the animals get. But all deep-sea animals are weird-looking because they have to be. To survive in such a harsh and inhospitable location, animals have adapted in strange ways to combat the extreme cold, total darkness, atmospheric pressure, and other predators. This molds normal animals into alien-like creatures. The creepiest fact of all is that most of the following creatures have only recently been discovered. If these guys have evaded capture for so long, we wonder what else is lurking down below. Sea Monsters on Maps

01:07
A huge variety of marine monsters adorn Medieval and Renaissance maps and atlases. There are monsters spouting water, monsters with huge tusks, monsters as big as islands, monsters that are hybrids of multiple creatures (both mythical and factual), and also mermaids, sirens and other creatures with some humanoid form. Maps from this era show how our knowledge of geography was growing but also shows our lack of knowledge about large marine animals. Find maps with sea monsters: https://bit.ly/2qZKXdk
