The 4 English Sentence Types – simple, compound, complex, compound-complex
Did you know there are only four sentence types in English? To improve your writing and reading skills in English, I'll teach you all about simple, compound, complex, and compound-complex sentences in this grammar video. You'll learn how to identify the independent and dependent clauses. Don't worry, it's easier than it sounds! By learning to identify and use these sentence structures, you'll make your writing more interesting and dynamic. I'll also share many example sentences in the lesson, so you can practice with my help. http://www.engvid.com/the-4-english-sentence-types-simple-compound-complex-compound-complex/ TRANSCRIPT Hi. Welcome back to www.engvid.com. I'm Adam. Today's lesson is a writing lesson, but it's also a spoken English lesson. It's about anything to do with English, because we're going to be looking at sentence types. Now, of course, when you speak, you're using all kinds of sentence types. But, especially in writing, it's important to know the different types of sentences, because, especially if you're going to be writing tests, they want to see sentence variety. And even if you're not writing tests, anything you write, if you're using only one type of sentence, your writing becomes very bland, very boring, very hard to follow, because it's a little bit monotone. So what you need to do is you need to vary... You need a variety of sentence structures in your writing to give it a little bit more life. Okay? Luckily, you only need to know four sentence types. We have simple sentences, compound sentences, complex sentences, and compound-complex. Now, this is not exactly easy, but it's not exactly hard, either. If you figure out what you need to have in each one, in each sentence type, just make sure it's there. Okay? Let's start. A simple sentence has one independent clause. A little bit of review: What is an independent clause? An independent clause has a subject and a verb, and can complete an idea. It can stand by itself, because the idea in that clause is complete. I don't need to add anything else to it. Okay. A compound sentence has two or more independent clauses, joined by a conjunction. A compound conjunction: "and", "but", "or", "so", "for" (not very common), etc. So, we join two independent clauses with a compound conjunction. You can have more, but again, you have to be a little bit careful. Once you get to three, start to look for a way to finish your sentence, because if you get to the fourth, you already have a crazy sentence that has the... Runs the risk of being a run-on sentence. Eventually, you're going to make a mistake, you're going to miss something, and the whole sentence falls apart. I don't recommend three, but you can put three. Then we have a complex sentence. A complex sentence has one independent clause, plus one or more dependent clause. A dependent clause is a clause that has a subject and a verb, but cannot stand by itself. It is not a complete idea. It has some sort of relationship to the independent clause. We have three types of dependent clauses. We have noun clauses, we have adjective clauses, and we have adverb clauses. Okay? That's a whole separate lesson. You can look at that later. But you have to have one of these, plus one of these, and you have a complex sentence. Next we have a compound-complex sentence. Here you have two or more independent clauses, again, joined by a conjunction, and one or more dependent clause. Okay? So you have basically all the elements in this sentence. Then, once you have all this stuff, you can add as many complements, or basically extras, as you want. So, let's look at an example. We're going to start with the simple sentence: "Layla studied biology." Very simple. I have a subject, I have a verb, I have an object. Okay? This is a simple sentence. It's an independent clause; it can stand by itself as a complete idea. Now, I can add anything I want to this that is not another clause of any type, and it'll still be a simple sentence. So I can say: "My friend Layla studied biology in university." I'll just say "uni" for short. I have more information, but do I have a different type of sentence? No. It's still a simple sentence. Now, let's look at this sentence. First, let me read it to you: "Even with the weather being that nasty, the couple and their families decided to go ahead with the wedding as planned." Now you're thinking: "Wow, that's got to be a complex sentence", right? "It's so long. There's so much information in it." But, if we look at it carefully, it is still a simple sentence. Why? Because we only have one independent clause. Where is it? Well, find the subject and verb combination first. So, what is the subject in this sentence? I'll give you a few seconds, figure it out. Hit the pause key, look at it. Okay, we're back. Here is the subject: "the couple and their families". Now, don't get confused with this "and".

Logical Abstract Reasoning test tutorial SAMPLE 1
Note that this is NOT a sample from a real aptitude test but an approximation only. In this tutorial SAMPLE, you will see examples of constructive patterns that you may get in a real Inductive (Non-Verbal Logical or Abstract) Reasoning test. The constructive pattern is where identical shapes multiply or decrease in number to form some continuously developing pattern. Logical (Abstract or Inductive) Reasoning tests are used by most of the graduate employers in selection/recruitment processes. Most popular providers/publishers of such tests are SHL and Kenexa. The test tutorial pack is designed in a similar style/format.
If money was no object, should you run every medical test?
Why are some patients hard to diagnose? Surely you can just run every test - doctors refuse to because they don't want to spend money, right?! Not quite. A millionaire patient asked me; if he was willing to pay, why not send off every possible test on him so we'd definitely find out what's wrong? It's a deceptively complex question. So towards the end of a nightshift, delirious from sleep-deprivation and mainlining coffee into my jugular, I had a crack at explaining. Let me know what you think! This video makes a nod towards Bayesian inference - arising from Bayes' theorem. Thomas Bayes is a towering figure in statistical analysis and continues to have a huge legacy in the modern world. ------------ More Medlife Crisis: http://www.medlifecrisis.co.uk https://twitter.com/medcrisis https://www.facebook.com/Medlifecrisis https://www.instagram.com/medcrisis

Hardest Computer Science Course Explained | Angel of Death UoG
Since you guys really liked the last computer science video I decided to talk about my hardest CS course, nicknamed the "angel of death" at my school. It has a notoriously high fail rate for its assignments. You can expect to write a few thousand lines of C code in the first two assignments. This year we made a GEDCOM parser (which is actually what ancestry.com uses) to store information about family histories, allowing us to perform operations on family connections. In the second assignment we wrote a GEDCOM file writer, to create a GEDCOM file out of the memory objects. In the third assignment we used Node js and express to create a RESTful web server and UI for interacting with our parser. I tried to explain the file structure as best I could in a few minutes, so it will probably be very confusing to watch at first. The goal is to show you the complexities of the file structure, and how we built this web application to interface with our C API. This is basically how large scale cloud computing applications are made such as YouTube and Facebook. GEDCOM Standard: https://edge.fscdn.org/assets/img/documents/ged551-86e5da89bae6ec7ba6f10e6794275d7e.pdf The point I want to make is that this course is not as "hard" as everybody makes it out to be. Just dedicate at least two weeks to the assignment and you will be fine. None of the algorithms or data structures were difficult, rather it was the massive amount of errors possible when writing such a parser from scratch. There are thousands of tags and conditions if you want to create a full parser and identify everything listed in the standard. Thankfully we only implemented about half of the full parser seen on the standard (link above). || Technologies used || GEDCOM Parser API: - C Web server: - Node js with express framework - RESTful server, ajax, JSON - JavaScript Client: - HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap Next Video: https://youtu.be/lU1GVVU9gLU Previous Video: https://youtu.be/spwCmFNtMyo Social ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Website: https://devoncrawford.io Twitter: https://twitter.com/DevonCrawford13 Snapchat: https://www.snapchat.com/add/devoncrawfordyt Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/devoncrawford_/ Github: https://github.com/devoncrawford Discord: https://discord.gg/sU2fur9 Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/devoncrawford Gear ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ - Video Editing Software (Premiere Pro CC): https://goo.gl/rKx66D - All Adobe Apps (I use this plan): https://goo.gl/hrTYFS - Keyboard (Velocifire TKL01) : https://amzn.to/2AQTjJQ - Monitors (Dell U2518D) : https://amzn.to/2AQQmco - Webcam (Logitech C920): https://amzn.to/2Cw588c - Desk Microphone (Blue Yeti): https://amzn.to/2FPFmzi - DSLR (Canon T7i): https://amzn.to/2T54mpZ - Wide Lens (Tokina 11-16mm F2.8): https://amzn.to/2MlpvcO - Full list of gear: https://devoncrawford.io/gear Music ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ lzr - ride (ft. English Grammar: Compound Subjects & Verb Agreement
What is a compound subject? It is when you combine several subjects together into one. This helps to avoid repetition in a sentence. But how do you make the verb agree with several subjects? For example, do we say "Bill and Kate is kind" or "are kind"? Do we say "Neither John nor his friends need help" or "needs help"? It all depends on subject-verb agreement, which is an important element of writing and speaking in English. In this lesson, we will look at compound subjects and how verbs react to these. I will teach you how to make the verb agree with the subjects in different kinds of sentences. After the video, be sure to do the quiz at https://www.engvid.com/english-grammar-compound-subjects-verb-agreement/ to test yourself on the material. TRANSCRIPT Hi. Welcome to engVid. I'm Adam. In today's video we're going to look at the "Compound Subject". So this is a grammar lesson, and it doesn't matter if you're a beginner or advanced, it's very important to understand this because it's very easy to make mistakes, especially in writing. So, we're going to start by looking at the subject. What is a subject? Just to refresh our memories. The subject is the thing in the sentence or in the clause that is going to do the action or is going to be in the situation of the "be" verb, if it's not an action verb. Right? So... And we always have to make sure that our subject and our verb agree. They must agree, especially in terms of number. If you have a singular subject, you must have a singular verb. Right? So let's look at this example: "The doctor is off this week." Right? So when we're talking about the doctor, there's one doctor, his or her situation is that he or she is off this week. They're on vacation. Right? So we have a singular verb. Now, we're going to look at compounds in terms of taking two pieces and making one subject out of this... Out of the two individual pieces. We're going to look at "and" and we're going to look at "or", "either", "or", "neither", "nor". Okay? But we're going to look at "or" after, we're going to start with "and". First thing you need to remember about "and", it works like a plus sign. One plus one equals two. So, when you take two individual subjects and you join them together, you're creating a two-or-more situation, or a two-or-more subject, therefore you have a plural subject. Right? So: "The doctor and the nurse are off", so plural, whereas you had singular. Now, it doesn't matter if you have plural pieces. "The doctor and the nurse are", "The doctors and the nurse are", "The doctors and the nurses are", any combination because you're joining them into a group and now they are plural and you have a matching verb. Now, it's very important to remember that we're talking about compounds and we're using a compound conjunction, but if you use: "The doctors"... Well, let's just say "doctor", no "s". "The doctor as well as the nurses are off this week", would this be correct? No, it would not because you're not making a compound. This is an extra. Okay? "The doctor", but if you had: "The doctors as well as the nurses are off this week", that is correct because then you would still have a plural to a plural. Singular, with "as well as", singular. Plural with "as well as", plural. Now: "as well as", "along with", "together with", "accompanied by", all of these expressions are not compound conjunctions. So we only have a compound subject when we have a compound conjunction joining them. Okay? But there are situations where you're going to have a compound, but you still have a singular subject. "Spaghetti and meatballs is delicious", not "are". Why is this singular? Because this is a grouped thing, they always go together. Spaghetti and meatballs is one idea. Even though you're joining them, they are basically one item. "Peanut butter and jelly is my favourite snack", or "Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are my favourite snack", but then you're using it as an adjective. If it's one piece, if it's a collective, then it's singular. If it's two separate items, then you're making a compound and then you have a plural. Look at this one: "The founder and CEO of the company is ready to sell", "The founder and CEO of the company are ready to sell". Now, which of these is correct? Well, both can be correct. You can have one person who is both the founder of the company and the CEO of the company. So if this and this refer to the same person, then it's a singular subject and you're using "is". If the founder and the CEO are two different people, then you're creating a compound, you have a plural, and then you have "are" as correct. So it's very important to understand what the two pieces on either side of "and" are doing. Are they two separate things, or are they one combined thing? And then you'll know which... If it's a plural or a singular subject. I'm going to give you some more examples after so you'll get an idea, but first let's look at "or". […]

Take the Instant Autism Test Online - ASD, Asperger's and ADHD Tests
AUTISM TEST ONLINE LINK: https://www.dealwithautism.com/autism-test-online/ Autism is a complex disorder of the brain. It is also known as Autism spectrum disorder or ASD for short. People with autism fail to develop social communication skill and have short attention span. Sometimes it is likely a person is suffering from Autism but doesn’t know it. It is most common in toddlers. There is an autism test for toddlers that could indicate if he is suffering from autism or not. To determine if the toddler is suffering from autism the main key is to observe him closely. His behavior, the way he response to noise, everything is really important in determining that if the toddler is suffering from autism We can divide the toddler’s activity into main four parts: The first part is observation skill of the toddler. You have to see the reaction of your toddler when he is called. If you engage in a conversation with your toddler, does he make eye contact, is he looking at spinning object for long period of time or making unusual finger movement in front of his eyes. The second part to look at toddler when deciding he is suffering from autism is to see how he socially interacts with people. You have to look at the things like, is your toddler sharing the things he likes by pointing them out or is he looking at you when facing a situation he never faced before. Another thing to look at is whether the toddler is interpreting small gesture and reacts accordingly The third part to look at is the toddelr’s communication skills. The things you have to observe is that is he able to communicate with the members of the family even though his speech is still under developed. Another thing to look for is that he uses sign language to point out the things he wants. The fourth part is to look after the toddler’s behavior, sensory & motor skills. Is he arranging his toys in a certain matter, like in a straight line, or he is a messy kid and his toys are all over the place. Does your toddler play pretend game often and is he good or bad is a key thing to look for while testing your toddler. This kind of things has to be observed and noticed with care to test your toddler. A lot more questions need to be asked for this and a formal test should be conducted on the basis of your answers. This test is not replacing medical help and it only indicates that your toddler might be dealing with autism. This test was developed by the Autism Research Center and the main intention of this test is to help you and your toddler. If this test indicates that your toddler is dealing with autism, then professional help should be taken immediately to help you and your toddler to live a healthy life. Every child is special and unique, they need to be taken care in the same manner.

Let, Make, Have & Get + Object - Learn English Grammar - Master English Conversation 2.0
http://www.englishanyone.com/speak-fluent-english-confidently-in-6-months/ Start expressing yourself clearly and confidently in English today with our complete 6 month fluency training video course! :) Welcome to simple English grammar! No complex explanations - just watch, understand and practice speaking the natural, English Anyone way. Keep reading to learn more about how you can become a great speaker... Even after years of studying, are you disappointed with your English level? Can you read and write English well, but still not speak confidently? Do you have trouble thinking of the right words to use in conversations? Are you nervous, self-conscious and afraid around native speakers? Is it hard for you to understand the idioms, slang and expressions they use? Do you worry that you'll make mistakes, or that you won't be able to respond to native speakers in conversations? Imagine what your life would be like if you could: Communicate powerfully and confidently in English, on the phone and in person, without hesitation... Feel EXCITED when talking with native speakers, instead of shy, embarrassed and fearful... Express the REAL YOU, and demonstrate your value and skills in English, without translating... Sound like a native English speaker with clear and smooth pronunciation... Understand different English accents, and use slang, idioms and real English expressions... Speak grammatically correct English without having to think of confusing grammar rules... Meet native English speakers to practice speaking with no matter where you live in the world... And achieve the level of English fluency you've been working so hard for (finally!!!) I understand exactly how you feel, not because I've helped thousands of learners just like you speak English confidently, but because I was a frustrated language learner too. I've lived through the same confusion and pain you're experiencing, and I'm proof that speaking success is possible. If you're ready, the unique fluency formula I uncovered on my own journey to becoming a confident speaker can become yours, and you can begin an incredible adventure that will take you from where you are to where you want to be... Here's Why You Struggle To Speak Conversational English... It's not you... Your learning methods are KILLING your spoken English fluency. First, traditional language learning methods actually STOP you from learning naturally. Because these methods usually introduce too much new information at the same time, or give you lists of grammar rules and vocabulary words to memorize, your brain can't absorb knowledge automatically. Second, traditional language learning methods don't teach you the real, conversational language of native, spoken English. Textbooks and listening practice CDs teach you the proper, grammatically correct English used for writing, NOT the idioms, slang and popular expressions found in everyday conversations, TV, music and movies. Third, typical language lessons give you unnecessary stress. Lessons pressure you to speak perfectly and fear mistakes, so you become nervous around native speakers and can't build your speaking confidence. Finally, Traditional language learning methods don't actually teach you how to meet and practice with native speakers. You may understand a grammar point in a textbook, but if you don't learn how to meet native speakers and use what you learn in conversations, you'll never become a great English speaker. In truth, getting fluent in English is really quite simple and easy. You just need to match your methods with your goals. Textbooks are fine for passing tests, but if you really want to speak excellent English powerfully, you need a system that teaches you conversational English, helps you learn automatically and then shows you how to get out and speak confidently with native speakers. If you're ready to be understood, really enjoy English conversations with native speakers and explore our world with confidence, join me, and learners just like you all over the world, on a unique English fluency video course. Master English Conversation 2.0, a complete English speaking and fluency membership program will help you learn naturally, speak confidently and get out and practice in the real world. Simple video lessons make learning fast and automatic, and you'll really feel yourself improving! http://www.englishanyone.com/speak-fluent-english-confidently-in-6-months/ Start expressing yourself clearly and confidently in English today with our complete 6 month fluency training video course! :)

3 Design Patterns for More Reliable and Maintainable UI Tests
Are you dreaming of having fast, reliable, easy to understand and maintain UI tests? Anton Angelov is going to tell you the story of how his team managed to accomplish this dream. The journey is going to introduce common problems and mistakes to you in the process of designing test automation frameworks, such as not following single responsibility principle, not enough code reuse, and bad object-oriented programming (OOP) design. The author is going to share with you how his teammates and he managed to solve these issues through the application of three well-known design pat-terns: Page Object, Façade, and Factory. The design patterns are general, re-peatable, and reusable solutions to common problems in software design. They can be utilized, not only in the software development, but also to build stable, reliable, and maintainable UI tests. Further, there are a couple of other design principles that, if followed, can boost the quality of your tests.

9 Awesome Science Tricks Using Static Electricity!
Add me on Facebook. (click the LIKE button on Facebook to add me) http://www.facebook.com/brusspup Music in the video are songs I created. Song #1: Over Rain iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/over-rain-single/id1033695238 Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Over-Rain-brusspup/dp/B014JXPNSW/ Song #2 Soul Switch Remix - Will be available soon All of these tricks take advantage of static electricity. In general, the lower the humidity, the better these tricks will work. The most impressive one to me is the floating bag trick. Depending on the conditions, you can float an entire grocery sack. 1. Hover Plate: (You need Styrofoam Plates and a cloth) Styrofoam plates are great for static electricity tricks. When you give them a charge and hold one above the other, you can feel an incredible amount of resistance. 2. Can Can Go (You need a coke can, PVC pipe and a cloth) This is a classic but still fun. Try standing the can up and then tip it over with static, or try pulling 2 cans at the same time. 3. Stick Around (You need a small wooden stick, glass jar, thread, tape, PVC pipe and a cloth) This one is fun because half of the time the wooden stick will come toward the pvc pipe, and other times it will move away from the pipe. When it moves away, it will stick the the side of the jar and remain there for a period of time. It also fun to use as large a jar as possible to increase the dramatic effect of the pipe moving the stick from such a large distance. 4. Bubble Trouble (You need bubble solution, plexi-glass, PVC pipe, straw and a cloth. This is a fun trick because the bubbles change their shape and move when the pvc pipe is near. It's also fun to create bubbles inside of bubbles to watch the effect of the static electricity. And also create multiple bubbles on the sheet and watch them all travel toward the pipe. 5. Dancing Balls (You need styrofoam balls, aluminum foil, plexi-glass, cloth, and an area to keep the balls from escaping. This trick is really impressive but can be a bit difficult to recreate. When the plexi-glass plate is charged and placed over the balls, they all jump up and stick to the bottom of the glass. For a few moments they travel around sporadically until they finally settle. But when you put your finger near the glass, they all start jumping around. It's also fun to use these balls with styrofoam plates / cups. If you place the ball on a charged plate, it will shoot off of the plate, or stick to it, even if the plate is held sideways or upside down. 6. Water Bender (You need a cup that you can poke a hole in, water, PVC pipe and a cloth. This is a classic but still fun. 7. Balloon Fight (You need balloons, thread, PVC pipe and cloth. When the conditions are just right, the balloon can almost levitate about the pipe. But most of the time you can have fun pushing the balloons around with the charged pipe. 8. Electroscope (You need, steel wire, jar, straw, aluminum foil, PVC pipe and a cloth) This one is really impressive to see in person. A really cool effect to try, which you can see in this video, is to rub the cloth on the pvc pipe from several feet away from the jar. When you run the pipe, you can see the aluminum foil pieces in the jar, moving. I was able to stand as far as 5 feet away and still see the effect. 9. Wingardium Leviosa (You need very light weight / thin plastic bags, cloth, PVC pipe) This is my favorite trick. Again, with the correct conditions, you can get the plastic pieces to float over foot above the pipe. Produce bags from the grocery store work great. You can float an entire produce bag in the right conditions. Have fun!

Real-time Volumetric Intersections of Deforming Objects (VMV 2003)
B. Heidelberger, M. Teschner, M. Gross: Real-time Volumetric Intersections of Deforming Objects We present a new algorithm for the computation of volumetric intersections of geometrically complex objects, which can be used for the efficient detection of collisions. Our approach requires neither expensive setup nor sophisticated spatial data structures and is specifically suitable for handling deformable objects with arbitrarily shaped, closed surfaces. The algorithm employs a Layered Depth Image (LDI) decomposition of the intersection volume. Currently, we have implemented two types of collision queries. The first one comprises an explicit representation of the intersection volume. The second one computes vertex-in-volume tests. All queries are processed on the LDI-based representation of the intersection volume. Our algorithm is very easy to implement and can be accelerated in graphics hardware by using OpenGL. Proceedings of Vision, Modeling, and Visualization 2003, pp. 461-468 (Vision, Modeling, and Visualization 2003, Munich, Germany, November 19-21) More publications from the CGL can be found here: https://cgl.ethz.ch/publications/papers/papers.php

11 Secrets to Memorize Things Quicker Than Others
We learn things throughout our entire lives, but we still don’t know everything because we forget a lot of information. Bright Side will tell you about 11 simple memorizing tips that will help you remember everything and improve your memory. TIMESTAMPS Why we forget things 1:04 How to remember everything 2:00 How to memorize something quickly 2:30 How to memorize something for a long time 3:20 Try to understand what you learn 4:17 Learn the most necessary information 5:11 Serial position effect 5:45 Interference theory 6:06 Learn opposite things 7:22 Build your own «mind palace» 7:22 Use «nail words» 8:19 Make up stories 8:40 Use a tape recorder 9:10 Visualize 9:51 Choose only the best materials 9:59 SUMMARY - Your brain is like a hard drive — the space is limited. Remember Sherlock Holmes? He couldn’t name all the planets of the Solar system — this was not because he missed school or something like that, but because he was too smart to have such irrelevant information in his memory. He deliberately erased facts he would never need. This is what your brain does: it protects you from overloading with information. That’s why all new data is stored in the short-term memory, not the long-term one. So, if you don’t repeat it or use it, you forget it very quickly. A German psychologist, Hermann Ebbinghaus researched the memory and its mechanisms. He described the Forgetting Curve which shows that just one hour after learning something new we forget more than half of the learned information. One day later we remember only about 30% percent. Well, you see where this is going. - There is a memorization technique called «Spaced repetition». To keep some information in your head for a longer time, you need to try to put it into your long-term memory. Forced memorization is not very effective in this case because your brain can’t make sense of the information quickly and form strong associations. Here it all depends on the reason why you are learning something. - To memorize something quickly, repeat the information right after learning it. The second repetition should be after 15-20 minutes. You don’t need to return to the information between repetitions — just rest and do something different. Let your brain relax. Repeat the learned material the third time after 6-8 hours. And you should have the final repetition 24 hours after the first contact with the information. Do you know any other memorizing tips? If yes, share them in the comment section below! The questions on the exam test your ability to recall and understand information, apply this knowledge and think critically about complex situations. ** Yes, it is an "open book" exam, but you are encouraged to study for it. It is definitely not a good idea to attempt it without being at least somewhat familiar with the list of study resources provided on the college's website. Recent graduates report that the exam is difficult enough that you need to have some understanding of nursing regulations in Ontario in order to be able to complete the exam within the time limit. There are questions that you will want to look up the answer to. However, the questions are hard enough that you will likely not have enough time to look up the answer to every question. Plus, you need to know this information to practice safely in Ontario after you graduate.** To prepare, identify ways that you learn. Become familiar with the documents on the College of Nurses of Ontario's website as well as where to find information within these study resources. Becoming familiar with the information, documents, standards, guidelines, processes and legislations will help you do well on the exam and know where to find it as a nurse. There are many ways to study. The method that is best for you will depend on how you learn. If videos are helpful for you please keep watching. As long as the interest in these videos continues I am making a series of videos based on practice standards and guidelines to help students prepare for this exam (as well as classes and real-life situations). You can subscribe to my YouTube channel and/or website for more study tips and videos. ** Once you pay your exam the timer starts. So make sure you are ready to start when you pay for it. Be comfortable with the environment you choose to write in. You will likely want to choose a quiet location that is free of distractions. The exam takes a long time and recent graduates say you won't want to move places or even go to the washroom during it. So, it is probably a good idea to use the washroom before the exam. Make sure that the internet connection and speed of the computer you are working on is acceptable. Remember that you will likely have multiple things open at once. You will also want information to open quickly in the middle of the exam. The last thing you want is for your computer to crash during the exam. You also don't want to get distracted by hunger or thirst in the exam. If you want to have water or a snack nearby, prepare it ahead of time so you don't need to run to get it in the middle of the exam. Just make sure your environment is comfortable for you and is set up the way you want it.** Before you start the exam have the study resources page on the College of Nurses website ready in another browser. It can become distracting, confusing and waste time to open each link before starting. Instead of needing to click multiple tabs to find the document you are looking for, it may be best to simply open the documents as you need them. Then, close the document when you are done with it to avoid having too many things open at once. To find information quickly I recommend using Google, especially if you are not 100% sure which document your answer is in. You can use search terms like "CNO" to help the right documents come up on the top of your search. Once you are in the right document use the search function to help you locate the right part of the document quickly. A quick way to access it on a PC is by using the CTRL + F keys. http://youstudynursing.com/

How to Parallel Park to Pass Road Test :: Step-by-Step Instructions
HOW TO PARALLEL PARK TO PASS YOUR ROAD TEST :: STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS - watch the video! PASS YOUR ROAD TEST FIRST TIME CHECKLIST: https://www.smartdrivetest.com/pass-road-test-checklist SUBSCRIBE TODAY! ► http://youtube.com/c/smartdrivetest SEE DETAILS BELOW • Locate the parking space – is the space legal and is it approximately 1 ½ times the size of your car • Mirror, signal, shoulder check and ensure that it is safe to stop and that there aren't any vehicles tailgating you • Pull up beside the car (3 feet from the car—in front of the parking space you wish to back into--and stop • Line up the rear bumpers—you will be able to see the rear corner of the vehicle through your rear right window • Put the car into reverse so the reverse lights activate telling traffic that you are going to park • Put on your right signal to communicate to other traffic that you are going to park • Locate your 45° degree reference point, which should be straight out form the door post—the reference marker can be any fixed object • Release the brake pedal and back slowly, steering rapidly all the way to the right without any throttle and backing until your are facing your reference point • At this point the rear bumper of the stationary car should be in line with your steering wheel • Straighten the wheels and back until the bumper of the parked car is ½ to 1/3 the way down your hood or the front of your car clears the parked car • Steer rapidly all the way to the left and back until the car is straight in the space • Stop Put the transmission in “Drive” or a forward gear and pull forward • You should be able to see the top of the rear bumper of the car in front of you • When park your vehicle should be 6-9” inches from the curb • Secure your vehicle by applying the parking brake and putting the transmission into park (or a forward gear if you’re driving a manual transmission) When pulling up to parallel park off the other vehicle, take note of how far the other vehicle is from the curb. If the vehicle is far from the curb, you will have to drive farther into the space. If the vehicle is close to the space, you will have to drive less deep into the space. If it is a wide vehicle, that too will dictate that you drive farther into the space.
