Wow, this has to be the most models I've used for a singe video. But it was so worth it. I got the idea a while back after collecting many Disney Princess models, I thought it would be nice to have a video with all of them together, and what better song than 'Girls' for the Disney Girls. (excluding the villains mostly because there aren't any that I've found that are dance friendly)
Super sad to say that I couldn't add Alice or Jane to this video because no matter what I did they would always float back to the center. Same for Snow White, but I already placed her in the middle for that reason -- if anyone knows why this is or the solution, please let me know so I can resolve this for future videos! Another problem that I discovered ( I hate to point it out because I'm afraid that's all you'll look at) is that the models whose arms I fixed in the transform menu have other problems with their legs bending the wrong way?? There was too much of that going on in this video that it would've taken ages to adjust but I kinda wanna know why that is and if I really have to choose between bad arms or bad legs.
Anyway, onto the plot of this -- of course I have a plot even for my dance videos! I don't know how many people caught on to this while watching the video, because some parts are hard to tell in the beginning, but I have the three good fairies floating about and, of course, they're fighting about her dress color. But, to use more of the slider, I decided to add some colors and you see a little mixup when they try to change her dress at the same time and end up with all the 'wrong' colors, so they then try to get it back to the 'proper' blue or pink. Can you tell who will win in the end?
I've also included the camera and motion data download, but the camera work in my video is heavily edited (obviously) to fit the 14 dancing models I have. I have the same cues for the most part, adjusting for height and a few angle and pan changes. I really like how it turned out and I'm really happy I was able to make such a nice video with having so many models of a different size. Spatially, I'm not sure what I was thinking because an aerial shot of the formation is a mess and at certain angle's it's hard to get every girl in the shot without someone's head being blocked, but the initial pose looked nice from the front and moving some of the models was hard enough that when I finally realized what a mess it was, I was too far into it to make adjustments to the camera again. Overall, I think it turned out pretty good, but I could have made it easier on myself.
For anyone wondering, I got the fairy models from the models resource, but I don't know anything about rigging yet so I just converted the files, added the textures and edited the girls in pmd editor so that their arms and capes weren't so flared out so they wouldn't look so strange in my video. That being said, they have no bones, I literally just used the center bone to move and rotate them around the stage. Which worked out for me, but not really practical for normal use.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy this video because I put a lot of effort in it (surprised MMD never crashed on me even when rendering) hopefully my next video will be out soon, as soon as I finish correcting 7k frames of backwards bending knees @[email protected]
