Montblanc Legend Review:
Introduced in 2011 and developed by Olivier Pescheux, Legend was a homage to the world-famous Meisterstrück pen.
Montblanc sought to create a fresh and confident fougère that brings out contrasting aromatic notes.
Legend opens with a crisp head of verbena, lavender, pineapple and lemon. It then transitions towards an aquatic and fruity heart of calone, apple and rose.
Finally, it settles with a fresh base of oak moss, tonka bean and cedarwood.
Legend's varied bouquet makes it a versatile fragrance that can be worn all year. However, it does offer a minor peak during the spring, which makes it most suitable for this season.
[05:21] Wake & Strength:
Legend is very conventional and follows a three-tiered dry-down. Nevertheless, it is not particularly strong. In fact, we found it to give a very faint sillage and tight projection.
With regards to its longevity, it lasts for a few hours but it would require reapplying around lunchtime if applied first thing in the morning.
[06:02] 3rd Party Feedback:
Legend is generally well received but not with much enthusiasm. It's often regarded as a relatively pleasant fragrance but offers nothing in particular that makes it stand out.
Some did go as far as saying that they found it somewhat bland and overly synthetic. However, the majority of people seemed to find it okay.
Montblanc Legend is an ideal fragrance for a professional in his thirties. It's very suitable for the office and can be worn at any time of the day.
Furthermore, its masculinity is somewhat moderate and far from overwhelming. Given that it's also a relatively mild fragrance, this makes it even better suited to the working environment.
Legend comes in an eye-catching bottle that was modelled off the traditional Montblanc Meisterstrück. However, it seemed somewhat unfinished and the parts felt loose.
Nevertheless, the cap was particularly eye-catching and weighty. As for the atomiser, it performs remarkably well.
With regards to the packaging, it's jazzy and vibrant but seems to be similar to the YSL Homme box. Yet, the latter seemed much more attractive.
Finally, the value for money is very good. This fragrance can be picked up for a mere $31 for 100ml, which is outstanding.
Like Individuel, Legend lacks some character. However, it's an excellent cologne that may not seduce the ladies but will seduce your clients.
If you're looking for a cheap fragrance for the office, Legend is worth considering.
