Oracle Linux Server Release 7.0 x86_64.

24:30
Oracle Linux Server Release 7.0 x86_64. Oracle Linux, formerly known as Oracle Enterprise Linux, is a Linux distribution based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), repackaged and freely distributed by Oracle, available under the GNU General Public License (GPL) since late 2006. Oracle Linux can be downloaded through Oracle's E-delivery service or from a variety of mirror sites, and can be deployed and distributed without cost. Commercial technical support is available through Oracle's Oracle Linux Support program, which supports Oracle Linux, and existing RHEL or CentOS installations (i.e. without reinstallation). As of 2013, Oracle Linux has over 11,000 customers subscribed to the support program. Oracle Corporation distributes Oracle Linux with two alternative kernels: Red Hat Compatible Kernel - identical to the kernel shipped in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel (UEK) - based on newer mainline Linux kernel versions, with Oracle's own enhancements for OLTP, InfiniBand, and SSD disk access, NUMA-optimizations, Reliable Datagram Sockets (RDS), async I/O, OCFS2, and networking. Oracle claims that the Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel is compatible with RHEL, and that Oracle middleware and third-party RHEL-certified applications can install and run unchanged on the Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel. For users requiring strict compatibility with Red Hat or for users running kernel modules dependent on specific kernel versions, the Red Hat Compatible Kernel offers 100% compatibility with Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Oracle Linux is used as the underlying operating system for the following appliances: Oracle Exadata Oracle Exalogic Oracle Big Data Appliance Oracle Exalytics Oracle Database Appliance

1. Oracle database Installation With ASM: Installation of Linux & network configuration

22:18
Automatic Storage Management (ASM) is a feature that has be introduced in Oracle 10g to simplify the storage of Oracle datafiles, controlfiles, logfiles and backups. ASM will be used as the file system and volume manager for Oracle Database files (data, online redo logs, control files, archived redo logs), and the Fast Recovery Area. NOTE: ASMLib in the Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel. ASMLib – Linux specific ASM library and its associated driver. The Oracle ASMLib kernel driver is now included in the Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel. No driver package needs to be installed when using this kernel. The oracleasm-support and oracleasmlib packages still need to be installed. The oracleasm-support can be installed from Oracle Linux ISO image. For other Linux flavors could be found here – (Download section for particular Linux distribution) The oracleasmlib can be downloaded from ULN (Unbreakable Linux Network), subscription is required. Non-subscribers are free to use the similar package built for RHEL on their Enterprise Linux machines, which we will use in this tutorial. Action plan: 1. Installing Oracle Enterprise Linux and creating virtual hard disks in VMware for ASM disks 2. Creating recommended OS groups and user for Grid Infrastructure 3. Creating login scripts for grid and oracle users 4. Installing Oracle ASM packages 5. Creating ASM disk volumes 6. Downloading and installing Oracle Grid Infrastructure software 7. Creating ASM disk groups 8. Installing Oracle database software and create database instance

Linux Tutorial: Network Manager Keyring Fix

01:15
In Ubuntu 9.10 the keyring asks for your password each time you log in so it can connect to a wireless network. This video shows a quick and simple way to fix this issue, so you can connect to your network automatically. Mainly, this video was meant as a way to get back into making video tutorials again, considering I haven't made one in two years. The only problem I see with using Cheese to show myself on-screen is the lag. It may just be because my webcam is old, so the frame rate and responsiveness isn't very good. If you know a way to fix that please let me know in the comments.

Plasma 5 on Arch Linux – install & configure

13:05
In this video, I show how I installed, configured and tweaked my Plasma 5 desktop on Arch Linux. I have tried different distribution with Plasma 5, but KDE Plasma 5 on Arch Linux has been my best experience. This tutorial assumes you have Arch Linux installed on your system. See “Installing Arch Linux in less than 10 minutes” https://youtu.be/GKdPSGb9f5s?list=PLSmXPSsgkZLt66s-M_gfQtMakc8iYJY6M You may also find useful my video on “10 Things to do first in Arch Linux” https://youtu.be/jW4GFGOIUjc?list=PLSmXPSsgkZLt66s-M_gfQtMakc8iYJY6M I prefer to install a very minimal Plasma desktop and then build up by installing only the packages I really need. sudo pacman -S plasma-desktop 1. Install some theme tools. Essential packages for the cohesion in look between GTK and KDE applications: sudo pacman -S breeze-gtk breeze-kde4 kde-gtk-config Enable Breeze theme in SDDM: nano /etc/sddm.conf And in the section Theme, add Current=breeze. Install additional plasma widgets and plugins: sudo pacman -S kdeplasma-addons 2. Complete connection tools. sudo pacman -S networkmanager plasma-nm Disable dhcpcd: sudo systemctl stop dhcpcd sudo systemctl disable dhcpcd Enable Networkmanager: Then enable NetworkManager: sudo systemctl enable NetworkManager sudo systemctl start NetworkManager Also, make sure you have your hosts configured correctly. I showed how to do it here https://youtu.be/GKdPSGb9f5s?t=4m5s Reboot the system and you should have a network applet working in your system tray. If you use Bluetooth, install bluez and bluez-utils packages. See Arch Wiki for details https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Bluetooth If you need a VPN, depending on the service you use you can install any of these packages. networkmanager-openconnect networkmanager-openvpn networkmanager-pptp networkmanager-vpnc networkmanager-l2tp networkmanager-strongswan I installed: sudo pacman -S openconnect networkmanager-openconnect. 3. Enable audio volume control. You need to have PulseAudio and GStreamer Multimedia Framework installed. See these videos for details: https://youtu.be/GKdPSGb9f5s?t=6m52s - PulseAudio https://youtu.be/jW4GFGOIUjc?t=1m42s - GStreamer sudo pacman -S plasma-pa Restart your Plasma 5 by log out and log in. And you have a volume control on your panel. 4. Install some KDE specific and desktop essential applications. I think these are necessary: sudo pacman -S ark kinfocenter kwalletmanager gwenview kipi-plugins gimp spectacle libreoffice-fresh okular amarok vlc speedcrunch redshift yaourt -S plasma5-applets-redshift-control-git --noconfirm I also recommend these packages: sudo pacman -S digikam kcolorchooser kruler kompare kfind ktorrent Download Wallpaper: https://plus.google.com/b/105235169774065518394/+AverageLinuxUser/posts/NgF3gkpbYqE ################################################ Support on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/averagelinuxuser Donate through PayPal: https://www.paypal.me/Kryvokhyzha ################################################ More cool Linux stuff at other social media: Google+ - Best Linux Stuff: https://plus.google.com/+AverageLinuxUser Facebook - Top Linux Tips: https://www.facebook.com/AverageLinuxUser Twitter - Daily Linux News: http://twitter.com/AVGLinuxUser Website: http://averagelinuxuser.com/

Fix Network Problems on Kali Linux (VirtualBox)

03:47
Hello Guys... I'm here to show you how to fix Network Related Problems on VBox. . Before we go further, I wanna make this clear that in VBox you can only run ethernet connection. (Until or unless any external adapter is connected). i.e. If you are running wi-fi in your Host machine, then it will be running as an ethernet connection on your VBox Machine(KALI LINUX). Means that no matter what connection you use on your Windows Machine, it will be running as an Ethernet connection on your Kali system. However, the connections will be two (means one of your windows machine and another of your Linux machine). Steps - 1. On the top bar of VirtualBox, click on devices/Network/Network Settings. Then choose Bridged Adapter and on 2nd option choose the adapter that is connected to Internet on your HOST machine. OK 2. Now open the terminal and type cd /etc/NetworkManager Hit Enter. (cd = Change Directory). Then type in ls (ls shows list of all files on a directory). 3. Now type in nano NetworkManager.conf Now go down with arrow keys and change managed=true Then press CTRL + O (to save) and CTRL + X (to exit). That's it...
