LETRA EN ESPAÑOL EN LOS COMENTARIOS. LYRICS ENGLISH: When I was back there in seminary school, there was a person there who put forth the proposition that you can petition the lord with prayer. Petition the lord with prayer, petition the lord with prayer. You can not petition the lord with prayer! Can you give me sanctuary? I must find a place to hide, a place for me to hide. Can you find me soft asylum? I can't make it anymore, the man is at the door. Peppermint, miniskirts, chocolate, candy, champion sax and a girl named Sandy. There's only four ways to get unraveled: one is to sleep and the other is travel, one is a bandit up in the hills, one is to love your neighbor 'till his wife gets home. Catacombs, nursery bones, winter women, growing stones, carrying babies to the river. Streets and shoes, avenues, leather riders selling news. The monk bought lunch. He bought a little, yes, he did. This is the best part of the trip. This is the trip, the best part, I really like. I'm proud to be a part of this number. Successful hills are here to stay. Everything must be this way. Gentle streets where people play. Welcome to the soft parade. All our lives we sweat and save building for a shallow grave. Must be something else we say, somehow to defend this place. Everything must be this way. Everything must be this way. The soft parade has now begun. Listen to the engines hum. People out to have some fun. Cobra on my left, leopard on my right, yeah. Deer woman in a silk dress, girls with beads around their necks kiss the hunter of the green vest. Who has wrestled before with lions in the night? Out of sight. The lights are getting brighter, the radio is moaning calling to the dogs. There are still a few animals left out in the yard. But it's getting harder to describe sailors to the underfed. Tropic corridor, tropic treasure. What got us this far to this mild equator? We need someone or something new, something else to get us through. Yeah, c'mon. Callin' on the dogs. Callin' on the dogs. (But it's gettin' harder). Callin' on the dogs. Callin' in the dogs. Callin' all the dogs. Callin' on the gods. (You gotta meet me). (Too late, baby). (Still a few animals) (At the crossroads). (Too late). (All in the yard). (But it's gettin' harder). (By the crossroads). (You gotta meet me). We're goin', we're goin great at the edge of town. Tropic corridor, tropic treasure. (Havin' a good time, got to come along). What got us this far to this mild equator? Outskirts of the city, you and I. We need someone new, somethin' new, somethin' else to get us through. Better bring your gun. Better bring your gun. Tropic corridor, tropic treasure. We're gonna ride and have some fun. When all else fails we can whip the horse's eyes and make them sleep and cry. Prayer That Moves God – Dr. Charles Stanley

27:04
Prayer is seriously powerful business. So often, though, we treat it as a perfunctory task to be checked off our daily to-do list. How can we shift our attitudes from boredom and obligation to joy and expectation? The Lord always inclines His ear to His children. In this message, Dr. Stanley shares the foundational principles of effective prayer, and encourages us to confidently approach God with our petitions and requests. For more messages from Charles Stanley, including this week's broadcast, go to intouch.org/tv.

The Lord's Prayer: First Petition

02:22
Hallowed be your name. The word “hallowed” isn’t all that common. In fact, the Lord’s Prayer may be the only time you say it. So let’s take a look at what it means when we ask God to hallow His name. In simple English, when we say “hallowed be your name” we are praying God would help us to keep His name, and His name alone, holy. Did you realize when you pray that God’s name is holy, you are actually praying against yourself? How so? Whenever you attend an athletic competition, a talent show, or even a church event you see people following in the footsteps of those who built the tower of Babel. People trying to make a name for themselves -- trying to hallow their own names -- in an attempt to get the respect and admiration of others. When we pray “Hallowed be your name,” we are saying something quite different. We are praying God sees to it that His name is the one that is holy. We are asking God not to make our name famous throughout the land, but to make His name famous and holy. And how is God going to make His name holy? Believe it or not, He has already begun the process before you even started to pray. When you were baptized God claimed you as His own. In doing this, God gave you His calling card. It's kind of like getting God's phone number. Why would God do this? In giving you His name, God did what He does best: He gave you Himself, so that you know who your God is and what He’s doing for you. He does not expect something from you, including your prayers, as part of a reward or exchange system. Rather, as found in the promise you received in your Baptism, He is the God who doles out the unconditional promise of forgiveness, who raised Jesus from the dead, the God who gives all that is His as pure gift. You might be asking, “What does this really look like? ” How is God’s name hallowed? Luther said it quite simply: God’s name is hallowed whenever His Word is taught truly and purely. Simply put, when we repeat God’s commands and promises to our children and to one another, with no qualifications or alterations, we are doing God’s will -- we are hallowing God’s name. This is most certainly true.

LORD TEACH US TO PRAY, PRAY THEN IN THIS WAY

22:58
LORD TEACH US TO PRAY, PRAY THEN IN THIS WAY This prayer is in remembrace of Jesus temptation for 40 days and 40 nights (Matthew 4:2) and for the 40 days between Jesus’ resurrection and ascension (Acts 1:3). YOUR $1.00 DONATION IS A BIG HELP TO OUR PRAYER WARRIOR COMMUNITY. WE LIFT UP YOUR GENEROUS SUPPORT TO THE LORD JESUS. THANK YOU. http://tinyurl.com/prayerwarriorfunds Many brothers and sisters are very familiar with the Lord’s Prayer, and we recite it every time we pray: “Our Father which are in heaven, Hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done in earth, as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:9–10). But even though we often recite the Lord’s Prayer, we rarely contemplate the true meaning of the Lord’s Prayer. Which aspects of the truth does the Lord Jesus tell us about through the Lord’s Prayer, what is the Lord’s will, and what mysteries are contained within the Lord’s Prayer? The best way to understand the Lord's Prayer is to break it down line by line. If something seems confusing, you can always consult an authoritative source such as the Catechism of the Catholic Church, which explains the prayer in detail. Our Father: God is "our" Father, the Father not only of Christ but of all of us. We pray to Him as brothers and sisters to Christ, and to one another. Who art in Heaven: God is in Heaven, but that does not mean that He is distant from us. He is exalted above all of Creation, but He is also present throughout Creation. Our true home is with Him. Hallowed be thy name: To "hallow" is to make holy; God's Name is "hallowed," holy, above all others. But this isn't simply a statement of fact—it's a petition to God the Father. As Christians, we desire that all honor God's name as holy, because acknowledging God's holiness draws us into the right relationship with Him. Thy kingdom come: The kingdom of God is His reign over all mankind. It is not simply the objective fact that God is our king, but also our acknowledgment of His reign. We look forward to the coming of His kingdom at the end of time, but we also work toward it today by living our lives as He wishes us to live them. Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven: We work toward the coming of the kingdom of God by conforming our lives to His will. With these words, we petition God to help us know and carry out His will in this life, and for all mankind to do so as well. Give us this day our daily bread: With these words, we petition God to provide us with everything that we need (rather than want). "Our daily bread" is that which is essential for everyday life. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us: This petition is the most challenging part of the Lord's Prayer because it requires us to act before God responds. We have asked Him already to help us know His will and to do it; here, we ask Him to forgive us our sins—but only after we have forgiven the sins of others against us. We beg God to show us mercy, not because we deserve it but rather because we do not; but we must first show mercy toward others, especially when we think that they do not deserve it. And lead us not into temptation: This petition seems puzzling at first, because we know that God does not tempt us; temptation is the work of the devil. Here, knowledge of the Greek word translated into English as "lead" is helpful. As the Catechism of the Catholic Church notes, "the Greek means both 'do not allow us to enter into temptation' and 'do not let us yield to temptation.'" A temptation is a trial; in this petition we ask God to keep us from entering into trials that test our faith and virtue, and to keep us strong when we must face such trials. But deliver us from evil: The English translation again hides the full meaning of this final petition. The "evil" here is not just bad things; in the Greek, it is "the evil one"—that is, Satan himself, the one who tempts us. We pray first not to enter into Satan's trials, and not to yield when he does tempt us, and then we beg God to deliver us from Satan's grasp. source: https://www.thoughtco.com/the-meaning-of-the-lords-prayer-542579 SUPPORT OUR PRAYER SPONSOR: https://go.onclasrv.com/afu.php?zoneid=1846519 YOUR $1.00 DONATION IS A BIG HELP TO OUR PRAYER WARRIOR COMMUNITY. The Doors - The Soft Parade (Subtítulada en español)

10:17

The Lord's Prayer: Second Petition

02:39
Your kingdom come. Of all of the things Jesus tells us to pray for in the Lord’s Prayer, for most people the second petition is probably one of the least natural. How so? At an early age our parents set us on a path to be independent. When we pray for God’s kingdom to come, we are praying for something quite different. We are praying against ourselves and our claim of independence. We are praying to live under another person’s rule. It may seem a little strange to be asking to live under the power of another person; nevertheless, this is what Jesus tells you to do. Why? Through his careful reading of Scripture, Luther understood there are powers at work in our lives that we’re not always aware of. There’s a power struggle, a fight for control and ownership of your life. It is a battle royale --- a power struggle between kingdoms. God versus the powers of sin, death and the devil. So, you might be asking, what do I have to do to bring the kingdom of God? There are all sorts of ideas about what the kingdom of God is and how God’s kingdom comes to us. Some think of it as a physical place - not on earth - a paradise we’re trying to get to. Others think God is going to bring about visible changes here on earth. They see themselves as helping God bring His kingdom to bear on creation and relationships. Martin Luther understood all of Scripture to be saying something different: When we have faith in Christ, there we have the kingdom of God. Put another way, when we believe that Christ has defeated sin, death, and the devil on our behalf, then God's power, God's rule over us, has already begun. And how does this happen? Jesus made the first move - at your Baptism. And He continues to bring His kingdom to bear on your life through sermons, the Lord’s Supper, and Scripture. Christ conquers the powers of sin, death, and the devil by placing His promise in your ears. When we pray “your kingdom come” we are praying that God gives us faith in Christ’s promise of forgiveness. Now, it would not surprise anyone if the old independent “you” had one last question: Isn’t there something we need to do to bring God’s kingdom? Simply put - no. Remember, God is a giver - and what we pray He is giving us here is His own kingdom - faith in Jesus. We are praying that in the battle of God versus the powers of sin, death, and the devil -- God wins. Thy kingdom come. This is most certainly true.

In his explanation to this petition Martin Luther identifies three kinds of temptation: The first two are temptations rooted in our flesh, and temptations that come from living in the world. It’s easy to see these temptations at work in our lives. There is yet a third more serious temptation. This one comes from the devil. Two well known Bible stories deal with this temptation: Adam and Eve’s encounter with the serpent in the Garden of Eden,(Genesis 3) and the story of Jesus’ encounter with the devil in the wilderness. (Matthew 4:1-11) Both stories tell of the devil’s attempt to put a wedge between God’s Word of promise and those being tempted. For Adam and Eve, the devil’s approach came in the form of a question: Did God really say? In the wilderness, the devil tempted Jesus to put God to the test - to challenge God and see if He would come through in a pinch. The devil is the crafty one - the father of lies. His temptations are more subtle and sneakier than the others. They are also the most destructive. They’re sneaky because the devil makes the questions and challenges seem like strengths and virtues. But listen carefully. They’re really an attack on faith. Need an example? You may have heard that you can’t have true faith without a little doubt - or that doubt is part of faith. That’s actually the beginning of the devil’s wedge - it’s the beginning of the temptation to doubt God and His promise for you. When things come between you and that promise, the wedge goes further and further until you’re left in despair and hopelessness - literally left without faith. In his explanation to this petition, Luther echoes the book of James: God tempts no one to sin. That doesn’t mean we won’t experience temptation and attacks from the devil as Christians. But God provides the counter to these attacks: faith in the promise of Christ. Therefore, Jesus commands us to pray these words - as He removes the wedges between you and His promise. Sin, death and the devil do not and will not have the final victory. Jesus has already won that final victory - for you. And so he says it Himself “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” This is most certainly true.

The Lord's Prayer: Third Petition

02:36
Your will be done on earth as in heaven. It doesn’t take long for Jesus’ followers, the sinners He came to save, to recognize His words and actions tend to go against what we value and consider most important. At the top of that list is our freedom to do what we want. Our society tends to see doing what we want as living live life to its fullest. As the founding Fathers of the United States put it: “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” are unalienable rights given to us by the Creator. When Jesus tells you to pray the third petition of his prayer -- “your will be done” -- His approach doesn’t change one bit. Believe it or not, Jesus is telling us to pray against ourselves. How so? Instead of praying “my will be done” Jesus insists you say, “Your will be done, God.” God, have it your way. So what is Jesus up to here? Jesus understands the different forces influencing us. Now, note the language here. To be influenced means something outside of you is impacting your decisions and actions. You are being pushed and pulled by a lot of different forces. Being a Christian doesn’t protect you from experiencing the effects of your sinful self, death and the devil. In fact, as we see in the story of the Garden of Eden, these very same forces cause you to doubt whether or not God’s Word is true - and whether or not Christ’s promise is for you. That is what happened in the Garden of Eden. The very first words out of the mouth of the serpent, the devil, were, "Did God really say?" With those words, Adam and Eve started to question God's words to them - they started to doubt God. And when they doubted God, they were afraid. They tried to hide from God. Jesus knows that we, too, will experience fear, doubt and anxiety. This is why Jesus gives us these words to pray: “Your will be done, God." Have it your way. Take me under your wing and make me captive to your will. So - what is God’s will for you? Luther says it this way, “God’s will is done when He hinders and defeats every evil scheme and purpose of the devil, the world, and our sinful self, which would prevent us from keeping His name holy and would oppose the coming of His kingdom. And His will is done when He strengthens our faith and keeps us firm in His Word as long as we live. This is His gracious and good will.” This is most certainly true.

THE MIRACULOUS 54 DAY ROSARY NOVENA - LUMINOUS MYSTERIES - PETITION PRAYER - 20TH DAY

THE MIRACULOUS 54 DAY ROSARY NOVENA - LUMINOUS MYSTERIES - PETITION PRAYER - 20TH DAY CATHOLICS ALL OVER THE WORLD. LET US SHOW THEM THAT WE ARE ONE IN FAITH BY SUBSCRIBING TO OUR CHANNEL. https://tinyurl.com/prayunceasingly Origin In an apparition of Our Lady of Pompeii, which occurred in 1884 at Naples, in the house of Commander Agrelli, the heavenly Mother deigned to make known the manner in which she desires to be invoked. For thirteen months Fortuna Agrelli, the daughter of the Commander, had endured dreadful sufferings and torturous cramps. The most celebrated physicians had given up. On February 16, 1884, the afflicted girl and her relatives commenced a novena of Rosaries. The Queen of the Holy Rosary favoured her with an apparition on March 3rd . Mary, sitting upon a high throne, surrounded by luminous figures, held the divine Child on her lap, and in her hand a Rosary. The Virgin Mother and the Holy Infant were clad in gold embroidered garments. They were accompanied by Saint Dominic and Saint Catherine of Siena. The throne was profusely decorated with flowers; the beauty of Our Lady was marvellous. Mary looked upon the sufferer with maternal tenderness and the patient saluted her with the words: “Queen of the Holy Rosary, be gracious to me; restore me to health! I have already prayed to thee in a novena O Mary, but have not yet experienced thy aid. I am so anxious to be cured!” “Child”, responded the Blessed Virgin, “thou hast invoked me by various titles and hast always obtained favours from me. Now, since thou hast called me by that title so pleasing to me, ‘Queen of the Holy Rosary’, I can no longer refuse the favour thou dost petition; for this name is most precious and dear to me. Make three novenas, and thou shalt obtain all”. Once more the Queen of the Holy Rosary appeared to her and said: “Whoever desires to obtain favours from me should make three novenas of the prayers of the Rosary, and three novenas in thanksgiving”. This miracle of the Rosary made a very deep impression on Pope Leo XIII, and greatly contributed to the fact that in so many circular letters, he urged all Christians to love the Rosary and say it fervently. The 54 Day Rosary Novena The 54 Day Rosary Novena consists of five decades of the Rosary each day for 27 days in petition; then immediately five decades each day for 27 days in thanksgiving, whether or not the request has been granted. The meditations vary from day to day. On the first day meditate on the Joyful Mysteries; on the second day the Sorrowful Mysteries; on the third day the Glorious Mysteries and on the fourth day the Luminous Mysteries; and so on throughout the 54 days. Follow the 54 video prayers for each of the mysteries. This is an arduous novena but it is a novena of love. If you are sincere, you will not find it difficult to obtain your request. Should you not obtain the favour you seek, be assured that the Rosary Queen, who knows what each one stands most in need of, has heard your prayer. You will not have prayed in vain. No prayer ever went unheard and Our Blessed Lady has never been known to fail.
