Ancient axes: Tool or weapon? - Definition / comparison
Sometimes it's difficult to classify archaeological finds because their design allows for several possible applications. However, there are clear-cut examples of battle-axes that would not be suitable for wood chopping, splitting, carving and other domestic tasks. The Dane axe is one such case, unmistakably a fighting implement. And a pretty awesome one at that. :) The axes shown in this video: Hungarian Axe by Arms & Armor (late medieval / renaissance two-handed axe) http://ww4.aitsafe.com/go.htm?go=kultofathena.com/product.asp?item=AA104&afid=28632&tm=14&im=1 Nordland Axe by Arms & Armor (Viking bearded axe) http://ww4.aitsafe.com/go.htm?go=kultofathena.com/product.asp?item=AA213&afid=28632&tm=14&im=1 Scandinavian Forest Axe by Gränsfors Bruks http://www.gransforsbruk.com/en/products/forest-axes/gransfors-scandinavian-forest-axe/ http://www.canadianoutdoorequipment.com/store/gransfors-bruks-scandinavian-forest-axe.html Danish War Axe by Arms & Armor http://ww4.aitsafe.com/go.htm?go=kultofathena.com/product.asp?item=AA024&afid=28632&tm=14&im=1 CRKT Woods Chogan tomahawk http://www.amazon.com/Columbia-River-Knife-Tool-2730/dp/B00I04Q7LO/?_encoding=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&keywords=crkt%20woods%20chogan&linkCode=ur2&qid=1425730423&sr=8-1&tag=skallagrim-20 http://www.warriorsandwonders.com/CRKT/CRKT_2370_Woods_Chogan_T-Kogan_T-Hawk_by_Ryan_Johnson http://www.amazon.ca/CRKT-Chogan-T-Hawk-1055-Hickory-2730/dp/B00I04Q7LO/?_encoding=UTF8&camp=15121&creative=330641&keywords=woods%20chogan&linkCode=ur2&qid=1425790915&s=hi&sr=1-1&tag=skalyoutchan-20 Valaška (shepherd's axe) by Sharp Blades http://www.shopsharpblades.com/collection/valaska-sharp-blades-shepherds-axe/ Light Viking axe by Sharp Blades http://www.shopsharpblades.com/collection/sharp-blades-viking-light-ax/ Intro by Heidaz https://www.youtube.com/user/heidaz/ ******************************************************************************** My favorite online store for buying swords (worldwide shipping): http://ww4.aitsafe.com/go.htm?go=kultofathena.com&afid=28632&tm=14&im=1 Want to help fund future videos? http://www.patreon.com/skallagrim My gaming channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCf6CpA3RvKibY4fMQ60SyoA My Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/SkallagrimYT

Product Costs Definition - What are Product Costs?
Product costs definition. Analyzing the definition of key terms often provides more insight about concepts. Product costs can be defined as – Costs that are capitalized as inventory because they produce benefits expected to have future value; include direct materials, direct labor, and overhead. Product costs are costs included in the production of inventory and they can be broken out into components of materials, direct labor, and overhead. When we think of inventory we often think of the direct material included in the inventory but the inventory consists largely of labor and overhead in addition to direct materials. Overhead includes items needed in the production process which cannot be applied directly to an item of inventory, or job, or process. Overhead can include small materials, supervisor salary, and depreciation on a factory. The meaning behind IKEA product names
IKEA has a very specific system in place for naming its products. For example, rugs are named after towns in Denmark or Sweden, while bed and bath accessories are named after flowers and plants. Following is a transcript of the video. The Swedish company has more than 12,000 products. Each product has a unique name that may seem odd at first, but there's actually a consistent system in place. The naming system came from IKEA founder Ingvar Kamprad. Kamprad had dyslexia, a learning disorder that can make it difficult to read. He had trouble remembering item codes, so he simplified it. So, how does the IKEA naming system work? Products are named after a specific Swedish word chosen based on the type of product. For instance, outdoor furniture is named after Scandinavian islands. Äpplarö is named after this island in Stockholm Rugs are named after towns in Denmark or Sweden. The Kattrup rug is named after this small Denmark town Bed and bath accessories are named after flowers and plants. Ullvide? It's the Swedish word for the plant Salix Lanata aka Woolly Willow, Beds are named after areas in Norway, like Hemnes. Shelves are named after occupations or boys' names, while fabrics and curtains are female names. So, while it may look strange at first glance to the Swedish, these product names are pretty familiar. -------------------------------------------------- Follow BI Video on Twitter: http://bit.ly/1oS68Zs Follow BI on Facebook: http://bit.ly/1W9Lk0n Read more: http://www.businessinsider.com/ -------------------------------------------------- Business Insider is the fastest growing business news site in the US. What The Heck Is GDP?
GDP, GNP – what does it all mean? Jonathan explains what economists mean when they bring up these common economic indicators. Learn more at HowStuffWorks.com: http://money.howstuffworks.com/gross-national-happiness.htm Share on Facebook: Share on Twitter: Subscribe: http://goo.gl/ZYI7Gt Visit our site: http://www.brainstuffshow.com OK, let’s say you’ve just gotten a job offer to work in the majestic country of Bumpsylvania. Awesome, right? You’ve always wanted to live amongst the scenic Bumpsylvanian swamplands and hear the local ghost toads sing their famous mating screech. But before you pony up the $549.95 for Rosetta Stone: Bumpsylvanian Edition, you want to do a little research on the economic health of this country. So you ask your friend the economics professor: How is the economy of Bumpsylvania doing these days? One number that will almost definitely figure into her reply is the country’s GDP. This stands for Gross Domestic Product. GDP is a common measure that’s used to roughly represent the size of a country’s economy. The way you calculate GDP is both simple as a general principle, and complicated in the details. The simple version is that GDP is the value of all the goods and services produced within a country in a given period of time, such as a financial quarter or a year. So if we look at Bumpsylvania, we can calculate its yearly GDP by adding up the dollar-value of all the stuff it creates: All the pork sandwiches, shoe shines, fashion magazines, bullets, massages, motorcycles, jiu-jitsu classes, ghost toad swamp tours, and, of course, traditional, Bumpsylvanian-style wooden hats. Every item, product or service brought to market by workers or other economic resources located inside the country in that year is part of the GDP. Coming up with this figure is not as easy as it sounds. GDP is actually a highly complex and abstract statistical instrument that takes some real work to calculate. Just one example of the many complications: Let’s say somebody cuts down some swamp trees and turns those trees into lumber, and then sells that lumber to a haberdasher who turns it into a traditional, Bumpsylvanian-style wooden hat. Do you count the sales of both the lumber _and_ the hat? Well, no, because GDP is a measure of the final value of goods and services. So if you counted the sale of the wood to the hat-maker and the sale of the hat, you’d be counting the same value twice. The value of the wood gets wrapped into the final value of that gorgeous, gorgeous headgear. GDP is probably the most important measure of the size and performance of an economy, but it’s not the only one. There’s also GNP, which is related, but slightly different. GNP stands for gross national product. The difference is that GNP is the value of all the products and services produced by a country’s residents, even if production takes place outside of the country. So if a Bumpsylvanian business has a factory making wooden hats in another country, the output of that factory would be included in Bumpsylvania’s GNP, but not its GDP. While GDP is a widely used indicator of economic strength, many critics point out that it’s not necessarily the best indicator of the “real” health of a nation. For example, a country with a large, growing GDP might look strong on paper, but what if that number is masking vast income inequality – a productive economy based on huge amounts of low-wage labor? Of course by comparing GDP with other pieces of data, you can do more with the figure. A simple example would be comparing GDP with population to come up with Per Capita GDP (which means economic value per person). So for example, according to the World Bank, in 2013, China’s GDP was a massive $9.2 trillion. Compare that to Luxembourg’s relatively small GDP of $60 billion. Yet in the same year, China’s GDP Per Capita was only about $6,800, while Luxembourg’s was more than 16 times that, at about $110,000. So while China’s economy is certainly much larger, it looks like each individual citizen, on average, is better off in Luxembourg. Financially speaking, that is. Definition of Done - Boost your value from it with these 3 tips
The Definition of Done is a key agreement that helps a team practicing agile product management with Scrum. Together with the Definition of Ready (video link below) they form the bookends of how a product backlog item can enter and exit a planning iteration / Sprint. There are three key tips and encouragement that I'd like to offer when it comes to getting the most value from having a Definition of Done. It can be viewed as somewhat of an insurance policy for the product owner that they can point to when an item gets proposed as done. You can more profoundly view it as an agreed level of fidelity and quality that each product backlog item that gets realised needs to be developed to. As such it would also include any 'non-functional' requirements such as browser compatibility. It describes the quality and fidelity promise that the team gives to the user. Such is my first encouragement with two more to come. Key to a beneficial use of a Definition of Done is also that it is specific and agreed actively by product owner and team. The Definition of Done must be clear enough so that any team member can use it as a final checklist when they believe the product backlog item they are working on is done. The active agreement ensures that team member and party willingly subscribe to the targeted level of fidelity and quality. For this level has impact on the team's estimation of effort required for realising each product backlog item. As such this impacts the team's product backlog grooming work, or as it is noways called backlog refinement. Lastly it is also important to bear in mind that the Definition of Done is a living document that needs to be updated in accordance with the product's growth over the course of the product's lifecycle. Your Definition of Done will cover a much different and lower level of fidelity and/or quality when you're starting out and are still validation product / market fit, compared to when you're working off of a validated roadmap. Here's my video on the Definition of Ready: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MvwRGsOZzRI&index=2&list=PLxW3d0wp1AnddgBCJjPGx1f_sgTDK2fAH For more videos in the Power of Three series check out and subscribe to the playlist here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLxW3d0wp1AnddgBCJjPGx1f_sgTDK2fAH For videos about increasing productivity, fulfilment, and growing a leadership mindset see here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLxW3d0wp1Aneye6_2mN97HqoeYxuxGaAg Thanks for watching! CAD Integration with Solidworks & Inventor
Throughout this short walkthrough we will look at various functionalities of our Engineer-To- Manufacture (ETM) module. GeniusETM allows to link an engineering software like Solidworks & Inevntor to Product Engineer and Management within GeniusERP. Now let’s open our Bill of Manufacturing module in order to validate that the product we will be importing from our CAD software is not present in GeniusERP. By searching the product by its item code, when can clearly see that the product does not exist in the system. Lets move to our CAD software. As mentioned previously, GeniusETM works both with Solidworks & Inventor. In the current, we see a pressure vessel that we will use to demonstrates the integration between the CAD software and GeniusERP. On the left-hand-side, we see the product’s Bill of Material. Within the CAD software, the engineer can use export data found in the custom properties of the product design to be exported into the ERP system. In this case, we can define the item family, description and suggested sales price of the product or part for each item in the bill of material. Under the mapping settings, the user can see the field between the CAD software and those field found in GeniusERP that will be mapped with one another. Changes to the field mapping setting can also be changed in this windows. Once the mapping configurations completed, we are now ready to launch the ETM synchronization module between the CAD software and GeniusERP. In the following screen, we find the same product nomenclature as in the CAD software. From there we select parts or the whole product for which we want to import into the ERP system. GeniusETM will then validate if parts exist or not in GeniusERP. If an item does not exist in the ERP, GeniusETM will then go-ahead and create the item for us in the items master file. By expending a section under an selected item, the engineer can rapidly view the item details information found within GeniusERP such as on-hand quantities and item description. To export the Bill of Material into GeniusERP, simply select edit & save from the actions toolbar. Narrative = It is also possible directly from GeniusETM to modify or create routings on the product’s sub- assemblies. In order to do so, we need to edit the product and then add specific routings which have been defined by given templates in GeniusERP. For each routing in the template list, the user can easily see the details of the routing such as the operation code, machine code and required time. We can then perform the same task of adding a routing to another sub-assembly as followed. Once saved, the routing steps will be added to the bill of manufacturing in GeniusERP. If we direct ourselves back to GeniusERP and refresh the bill of manufacturing of our pressure vessel, we now see the required sub-assemblies, parts and routings specified in the CAD software as well as GeniusETM.

What is DELIVERABLE? What does DELIVERABLE mean? DELIVERABLE meaning, definition & explanation
What is DELIVERABLE? What does DELIVERABLE mean? DELIVERABLE meaning - DELIVERABLE pronunciation - DELIVERABLE definition - DELIVERABLE explanation - How to pronounce DELIVERABLE? Source: Wikipedia.org article, adapted under https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ license. Deliverable is a term used in project management to describe a tangible or intangible product or service produced as a result of the project that is intended to be delivered to a customer (either internal or external). A deliverable could be a report, a document, a software product, a server upgrade or any other building block of an overall project. A deliverable may be composed of multiple smaller deliverables. It may be either an outcome to be achieved (as in "The corporation says that becoming profitable this year is a deliverable.") or an output to be provided (as in "The deliverable for the completed project consists of a special-purpose electronic device and its controlling software."). A deliverable differs from a project milestone in that a milestone is a measurement of progress toward an output, whereas the deliverable is the result of the process. For a typical project, a milestone might be the completion of a product design, while the deliverable might be the technical diagram or detailed design report of the product. A deliverable is more than just a project document in that a project document is typically part of a project deliverable. A project deliverable may contain a number of documents and physical things. In technical projects, deliverables can be further classified as hardware, software, or design documents. In contracted efforts, deliverable may refer to an item specifically required by contract documents, such as an item on a Contract Data Requirements List or mentioned in the statement of work (SoW). A deliverable is something (hard or soft) that can be ready to dispatch to the site or the client as a partial item of the supply foreseen in the contract, e.g. when the project has started some part of the design (when settled), can be anticipated to the sub-supplier who has therefore the possibility of starting his purchase activity of raw material, even if many other parameters are not yet designed by the designer. In this way many time-savings are possible, shortening greatly the whole project final supply term. This designing activity can be represented in the drawings with a "cloud" around a not yet designed part and means: "this part (size, or other characteristics)will be studied later". The part settled can be "delivered" to the interested parties.

Definition of Done | Scrum and Agile | Dean Gabbert
Visit http://www.collaborativeleadershipteam.com to learn more Definition of Done | Scrum and Agile | Dean Gabbert https://youtu.be/ABsYE8rn9dg [Transcript] Hello, my name is Dean Gabbert and I am an Agile Coach and Trainer with Collaberative Leadership Team. Depending on where you are in your agile and scrum journey, chances are you have heard about the importance of definition of done. There are many different stories and analogies out there that do a great job of explaining this, but the one I like to use is laundry. I know that may seem a bit strange, but stick with me and I think you might see how it could help you as well when working with teams, product owners and stakeholders on backlog items. Take a second and picture the person you love most in this world, then go have a conversation with that person, or imagine having a conversation with them about what it means to be “done” when doing the laundry. Chances are many of you are smiling right now, or you are recalling a recent conversation about this exact same topic after tripping over a clothes basket in the hallway at home. Everyone that I have talked with about this, usually has a different definition of what it means to be done with laundry. Some people say washed, dried and ironed. Shirts and pants on hangers and the rest folded and put away in a dresser. Others will tell you that so long as the clothes make it to the dryer, it’s done and then they can go dig through it and find what they need when they need it. In both cases – the laundry is “done” – but, if these two people were working together on a project, you can see where some conflict and confusion might pop up. The most important thing is making sure that everyone has a shared understanding and agreement of what done looks like for whatever it is you are working on – and many times this means having to negotiate. So, the next time you are in a planning meeting, and the definition of done is a bit fuzzy – just do a load of laundry with your team and see what you all can agree to. investment for beginners, investment definition, basics, and best practices
investment for beginners, investment definition, basics, and best practices. what is an 'investment'? an investment is an asset or item acquired with the goal of generating income or appreciation. in an economic sense, an investment is the purchase of goods that are not consumed today but are used in the future to create wealth. in finance, an investment is a monetary asset purchased with the idea that the asset will provide income in the future or will later be sold at a higher price for a profit. understanding 'investment' the term "investment" can refer to any mechanism used for generating future income. in the financial sense, this includes the purchase of bonds, stocks or real estate property. additionally, a constructed building or other facility used to produce goods can be seen as an investment. the production of goods required to produce other goods may also be seen as investing. taking an action in the hopes of raising future revenue can also be considered an investment. for example, when choosing to pursue additional education, the goal is often to increase knowledge and improve skills in the hopes of ultimately producing more income. investment and economic growth, economic growth can be encouraged through the use of sound investments at the business level. when a company constructs or acquires a new piece of production equipment in order to raise the total output of goods within the facility, the increased production can cause the nation’s gross domestic product (GDP) to rise. this allows the economy to grow through increased production based on the previous equipment investment. investment banking, an investment bank provides a variety of services designed to assist an individual or business in increasing associated wealth. this does not include traditional consumer banking. instead, the institution focuses on investment vehicles such as trading and asset management. financing options may also be provided for the purpose of assisting with these services. investments and speculation, speculation is a separate activity from making an investment. investing involves the purchase of assets with the intent of holding them for the long term, while speculation involves attempting to capitalize on market inefficiencies for short-term profit. ownership is generally not a goal of speculators, while investors often look to build the number of assets in their portfolios over time. although speculators are often making informed decisions, speculation cannot usually be categorized as traditional investing. speculation is generally considered higher risk than traditional investing, though this can vary depending on the type of investment involved.
