11g Standby : RMAN Active Duplicate method (Without backup)

58:53
The procedure for creating a standby database with RMAN is almost the same as for creating a duplicate database. To create a standby database with the DUPLICATE command you must connect as target to the primary database and specify the FOR STANDBY option. You cannot connect to a standby database and create an additional standby database. RMAN creates the standby database by restoring and mounting a control file. RMAN can use an existing backup of the primary database control file, so you do not need to create a control file backup especially for the standby database. A standby database, unlike a duplicate database created by DUPLICATE without the FOR STANDBY OPTION, does not get a new DBID. Thus, you should not register the standby database with your recovery catalog. Please Find the below link to download checklist to create Active duplicate standby: ************************************************************************************* https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B1Vyp5-9fissS21aUWxISDYyQWc Follow the below link to find other oracle stuffs. http://oraerrors.blogspot.in/ Pradeep kumar +91-9972201100

Oracle Data Guard in Ten Minutes Part 1

01:28
Watch all 3 parts of this tutorial, free, at http://skillbuilders.com/how-to-setup-data-guard-in-10-minutes. Learn how to configure Oracle 12c Data Guard in this free tutorial from Certified Master John Watson and Dave Anderson of SkillBuilders. John demonstrates setting up a physical standby database - in ten minutes! Data Guard is fantastic technology. We can configure physical standby databases for zero data loss and minimal downtime under any circumstances. Then there are the performance enhancements: logical standby, realtime query standby, snapshot standby. Release 12c takes it further, with full support for cascading standby with the Far Sync capability. It can all get awfully complicated. However, in this free tutorial, John and Dave will demonstrate that the basic physical standby configuration is simple in concept and practice, and can take only a few minutes to setup.

Overview of Oracle Real Application Clusters : A cluster comprises multiple interconnected computers or servers that appear as if they are one server to end users and applications. Oracle Real Application Clusters (Oracle RAC) enables you to cluster Oracle databases. Oracle RAC uses Oracle Clusterware for the infrastructure to bind multiple servers so they operate as a single system. Oracle Clusterware is a portable cluster management solution that is integrated with the Oracle database. Oracle Clusterware is also a required component for using Oracle RAC. In addition, Oracle Clusterware enables both single-instance Oracle databases and Oracle RAC databases to use the Oracle high-availability infrastructure. Oracle Clusterware enables you to create a clustered pool of storage to be used by any combination of single-instance and Oracle RAC databases. Oracle Clusterware is the only clusterware that you need for most platforms on which Oracle RAC operates. You can also use clusterware from other vendors if the clusterware is certified for Oracle RAC. In database computing, Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) an option for the Oracle Database software produced by Oracle Corporation and introduced in 2001 with Oracle9i provides software for clustering and high availability in Oracle database environments. Oracle Corporation includes RAC with the Standard Edition of Oracle Database, but makes it an extra-charge option for the Enterprise Edition. Functionality Oracle RAC allows multiple computers to run Oracle RDBMS software simultaneously while accessing a single database, thus providing clustering. Types of RMAN backups and RMAN components

20:31
https://dbagenesis.com/p/oracle-advanced-rman-backup-recovery DBA Genesis provides all you need to build and manage effective Oracle technology learning. We designed DBA Genesis as a simple to use yet powerful online Oracle learning system for students. Each of our courses is taught by an expert instructor, and every course is available on demand. RMAN provides you flexibility to take full database backups and incremental backups. With the incremental backups, you only take backup of changed blocks. This results in saving the disk space. While taking first incremental backup, it will be count as level 0 incremental backup, which is same in content to RMAN full backup and takes backup of all blocks in the database. Level 1 incremental backup takes backup of only those blocks who modified after earlier incremental backup.

ORA.mirror Oracle Standby - Failover für Oracle - Mirroring - Freeware for XE

10:24
