#7 - Jeweled Air Force 1 Socials
Most people know the rapper Big Boi as one who, like the rest of them, likes his sneakers and his jewelry. Thinking that there was nothing to stop him from combining the two favorites, Big Boi had the stunners in this picture made up to suit his needs. This pair of Air Force 1s is studded with diamonds, giving them a hefty $50,000 price tag. We aren’t sure how many times he wore them out but seeing since they are in a glass case, we think it wasn’t very often.
#6 - The Diamond Dream Stilettos
The last pair of shoes designed and made by Stuart Weitzman are the ones pictured here, which are referred to as the Diamond Dream Stilettos. They cost half a mil because they contain 1420 diamonds. Since there is a common belief that diamonds are a girl’s best friend, we believe it’s safe to say that these heels would be a life partner for someone with that diamond desire. The beautiful shoes were worn by actress Anika Noni Rose during the 2007 Academy Awards, which you can see a picture of here.
#5 - Gold Nike Dunks
How do you make the price of a pair of sneakers go up? You either covered them with diamonds, or you dip them in gold and that’s exactly what artist Kenneth Courtney did when he dipped these Nike Dunks into 24K gold before selling them for $6,000. While creating a masterpiece like this one is certainly unique in its own right, Kenneth wanted to get a bang for his buck so he settled on making five pairs instead of just one. We don’t know about you but we don’t simply have a vat of liquid gold lying around and even if we did we would find something else to dip in it besides a pair of shoes that no one can ever wear again. At least the rest of the shoes in this video are ones that you can actually get on and off.
#4 - Air Jordan 12s, Worn By Michael Jordan Himself
People who aren’t fans wouldn’t know this but Michael Jordan had one hell of a game back in 1997. The game was one of the finals and Michael had gotten food poisoning. Although that would have been enough for anyone else to call the game quits, Michael pushed on and managed to take home the win, nausea included. As a reward for the applesauce that a ball boy had given him from the opposing team, Michael took off the shoes he was wearing and gave it to him. Being a smart kid, the ball boy waited and kept track of the shoes for 16 years. After the value of them had accrued substantially, he contacted a luxury auction house and put them up for bid. How much did he get for those flu season shoes? $104,000.
#3 - Air Yeezy 2 - Red October Version
You might have believed that the kicks we just talked about cost a lot, but their price is next to pocket change when it comes to the hilarious value of the Air Yeezy 2 - Red October Edition which are pictured here. These shoes were listed on the Nike website for the better part of a year without anyone actually being able to buy them. It wasn’t until months later that they were ready for purchase. When people started buying them, they weren’t that crazy expensive, the massive expense came with one particular eBay auction. Of course, this sale went off the rails because the ending bid was at $17 million dollars. We’re sure that whoever was the winner backed out of the sale after seeing that they would have to spend six lifetimes just to make the payments.
#2 - The Maralena Flame Sandals
If you don’t know about the iconic Christian Louboutin by now, we don’t know where the rock you’ve been living under is located because everyone knows about these famous red bottomed heels. Each pair of these shoes costs a pretty penny but the pair pictured here, called the Maralena Flame Sandals are one of the most expensive. As you can see, the shoes have a flame design that lends hand to the name. The pumps you see here cost $2,395, much more expensive than your Payless store run.
#1 - The Laureate High Boot
You can’t have a shoe video and not think to include a pair of Louis Vuittons. The boots in this picture are called the Laureate High Boot and they’ll set you back almost $2,500. Of course, that isn’t as expensive as some of the other shoes we’ve gone over, but these are one of the few pairs that aren’t one-of-a-kind. Even though they aren’t one-of-a-kind, they are rather unique since they are made of nubuck calf leather.
