Dreadful video - this has nothing to do with Architecture. So much for site biodiversity. This type of video makes me sick as it is 'received' ideology. The world has moved on and analysis and sustainability hold the utmost importance when considering site evaluation and building type. This idiot has no concept of philosophy nor environmental engineering - take it as a graphics video, and a very poor one at that.

concept is still missing ?

He drew some pretty nasty spaces at the back of the house. Couldn't say I'm impressed. Besides - the grid system? Really? Is that really more important than the spaces themselves?

Nice video. Can you please tell the name of your concept for this design??

You just eyeballed it when you drew the lot and site plan, but it needs to be to scale and accurate, otherwise it's going to screw you up when you draw the floor plans.

THIS IS FAKE! As any architect I am also looking for fresh insights. This is a total sham. It does NOT work like this. (I wish) To develop a plan like this takes at least 40 hours. What you see here is someone that spend 40 hours developing and showing a summary.

Exactly

Looks like a re-hash of a known design. I like the one sheet format.

I'm an architecte and yeah it's fake to say he did develop these ideas in 8 minute but i think he also know that and the reason of the vedio is just to show people the process and the logical Sequence of work that all .

This makes me laugh; things like your grid system is what leads to the same-ness in some architecture.

+donttalkcrap completely my thoughts... don't bother man, he's just a typical internet loser

What a totally self-entitled asshole you are, Aaron! Firstly, this guy is showing us, *his* way. He never once said that it was the ONLY way to do it. Secondly, after you bashed the shit out of him for trying (something that you're too fucking lazy or stupid to do), he asked you for your opinion as to what you'd suggest instead (showing that he at least has an open mind to learn - unlike you!), and then you don't even bother to make any suggestions!! Rather, you jump up on your soapbox and start pontificating and tell us all something we all learned in college. You added absolutely NO VALUE! The reason for the grid is merely a guideline for size and proportions as you sketch. In no way does it lead to sameness. If it does, then show us some evidence, or shut the fuck up. This world is too full of know-alls like you. We need more *doers* like this guy. At least he is having a go. Look at yourself. How long have you been a nationally renowned architect? Why don't you have a Youtube channel if you're so frigging knowledgeable?? You make me sick.

+homeplansindia there's no single rule when developing a concept; different things work for different people. One can use building blocks to play with massing while others sketch an elevation and from there they my develop a plan. The one thing, a rule, if i can say is that there is no rule; Frank Lloyd Wright sat on the design for Falling Water for months until the clients were outside his door knocking. Some people thrive under pressure and get inspired.

Aaron Walker Sure. So can you suggest what would you rather prefer....

Your sketch has reminded me of a house design I really liked by a local draftsman I saw in the local paper about 20 years ago when my parents were looking at having their house built. It was called the Boomerang House for its similar shape. I have been interested in House design a long time now :-)

This helped me so much! Im a first year first sem student and rly needed some structure and organisation in my concepts but didn't know how to do it
Michael Foster (1 month ago)
Nur use 1: 100 scale with a thick pen, then draw rooms out, in a sequence you think might be right, then put yourself in the users shoes/wheelchair/ hooves/ whatever, and move about as them. Did you just open that door into the path of your dog busters face? Whys the kitchen only fit a sink and a bin? Why is there an international baseball convention happening in my bedroom? You can rationally dictate the project. Once you have a functional design, you can start to defragment it, wheelchair users cant reach the kitchen worktop so its no good for your client. Your client is a farmer and he has to walk through the living room at lunch with cow poop all over his boots, maybe swap kitchen location. It soon develops into something personal and it becomes architecture. Pretty image and big bright windows are fashion, they are not necessarily right for everyone. For example, I recently visited a build designed for autism, and I got lost inside, blinded by the huge south facing window. Some autistic people, suffer from bright lights, loud noise etc. Why would anyone design such a big space and slap it under the sun. Design for clients, don’t design for architects, who cares if the world likes your instagram if you set out to design architecture but you failed.
