Glasses Goals! I got prescription sunglasses a year ago and it was one of the best purchases I've made! Gave up on contacts years ago and now I only wear specs! Was about to order some cat eyes on Warby Parker but stopped to watch this vid first!
I love this video! your glasses are so beautiful and cool! I've been wanting to get sunglasses but I don't know if they are really worth it! D: also I love the way your videos look can you make a video on your set up?💜 (unless you already done it i'm new here hehe)
Hi Jessica! Great video! I've been hoarding See Mondo glasses for about a year and a half now. You've got so many great frames! :) And WOW, thanks for turning me on to Valley Eyewear - I've never seen their stuff before - so amazing! I just ordered the Dead Coffin Club in black & white. Love them!! Keep up the great work Jessica!
the See Mondos are so great! But now, thanks to you, I'm even more obsessed with Valley Eyewear! :P I've got Dead Coffin Club, Spleen, and Wolves with blue mirror lenses! :) Thanks again for your awesome video Jess!
+Mirrorsandhaze I am much like you with prescription glasses addiction! In fact, I think you are the only person I know with more than me! I am now going to be an enabler to your addiction, because I share it! If you find some killer frames that are vintage or just a sunglass frame you find in any old store that you'd love to have as prescription, (I am obsessed with authentic vintage cat eye and club master frames) you can send them to LensesRX.com, you can get a regular prescription put in them starting at $19.99! I've gotten many pairs of bifocals there for about 2ce that. The scripts are very accurate. I know because my prescription is complicated AF! So, that might help you add even more now! Oh and check online - there is ALWAYS a coupon! Enjoy!
Love your style! I'm also a glasses hoarder so this was awesome to watch. How on earth do you keep your foundation from rubbing off on your nose!?? I have that problem no matter what foundation I've tried... Is it pretty much unavoidable?
A few tips:
1. Water proof primer in the areas where your makeup rubs off most.
2. Very small amount of setting spray on glasses, be careful, don’t do all the time, you don’t want you to mess up really cool frames.
3. Apply less makeup in that spot near your glasses. This just means less makeup will be there to come off.
Sunglasses...it's a sickness. Prescriptions...don't need em for nearsightedness anymore since I got LASIK about 15 years ago. Every day I'm so glad I did. HOWEVER...when you reach (ahem) a certain age, presbyopia often kicks in, giving one a fabulous reason to buy cheaters (hey, I need backup-at work, at least 2 pairs in case I lose one, wear them home on my head by mistake, or God forbid, break a pair. At home- in the bathroom so I can read lipstick labels and directions on new skin care stuff, and the labels on loose pigment! In the bedroom for reading/computer work, in the kitchen for reading the dogs' prescription drug labels, etc...). Not that we NEED a reason, right? And I might need to TRY a true Rx pair to see if they reduce eye strain. I do spend a lot of time typing my charts, and eventually I'll need to wear them in surgery (ER vet here). Also need to be able to read the numbers I wrote in copper Sharpie next to my Morphe 35O and 35 F (OMG YOU NEED IT TRUST ME) to label the shadows for reference, if I really like how a look turned out. I was so annoyed with Morphe for having the 35O OOS constantly that I gave up on it...until your tutorial! So glad you enabled those purchases, girl. And, FYI, from another cat eye lover, I did have to spend the (sigh) bucks on a pair of Genius Child sunnies. It's a sickness...
Like you I horde glasses I must have like 15 pairs with my prescription I love Zenni I've ordered glasses there that have cost me $12 a pair that's with my lenses with the UV anit glair coating and they even have sales. Last order I made I got three pairs and it cost me $48 with shipping for all three pairs with my nearsighted prescription and I have a astigmatism as well.
Jessica, your frames are BEAUTIFUL and suit you well!
I used to live in MIchigan (was born and raised there). I went to See Eyewear in Ann Arbor (about 12-13 years ago) and I fell in love with their awesome frames. I gave them my glasses so they could check the lenses and determine if they could fill my prescription. They said they could not! That's how bad my eyesight is.
My lenses w/frames usually run about $350-450 and I always have to wait a couple weeks (no 1-hour eyeglasses for me). So you can get 6-8 pairs of your $50-60 dollar eyeglasses for just one of mine. I thought about buying the frames from SEE and taking them to my eye doctor to get lenses put in, but that would cost me even more overall (the eye doctor called them "custom lenses" and then jacked up the lens price).
Perhaps things have changed at SEE and they have improved their technology to where they can fill my prescription. Next time I am up that way and have some time I will check into that. Thanks for showing your prescription eyewear with us! <3
I ❤️ Valley Eyewear. I have a pair of A Dead Coffin Club and a pair of Wolves. They are seriously the most well made sunglasses I own. So sturdy! And extremely stylish. Photos online don't even do them justice on how they look on!
Cool, I new your comment is old, but I have to ask are the glasses on coastal real and not fake? I am afraid to buy and then i discover they are fake, I am just wondering because there are a lot of scams online
😎👍that's quite the collection you have i love the frame you keep them on its a brilliant idea!Derek Cardigan glasses are my favorite brand! Nice to see which frame numbers you have. It's easier to judge if glasses would suit you when you see the frames on others!
