Tables and other objects are stored in the database schema. For example, the tables used in this tutorial are the part of HR schema of the database.

when i try to connect data base its gives error: ORA_12505, TNS: listener does not currently know of SID given in connect descriptor......

sir i want to try all the queries on my command prompt first, but whenever i try to connect with database it shows an error and even when i open up the link that copied when i install the oracle 11g, it also showing an error like as 503 bad server... sir but when i try to connect sysdba as sys user it gets connected... but queries r not working plz help.... \\\\\Thanks/////

Hi Manish, Can we update single letter at particular position of the word... e.g if the word is Manish I should update the letter 'a' at 2nd position to some other letter let it be 'i' , now after updating the result should be Minish note:- update should not affect the other positions of the same letter in that word. I have gone through almost all videos.

Hi Manish, Thanks for the video tutorial it's very helpful. i have tried 4 to 5 times to install Oracle11gR2 but every time show me the same error that "[INS-13001] Environment does not meet minimum requirements" on my windows 8.1 laptop with high hardware and software configurations but finally i was able to install Oracle database 12c and also created connection between database and sql developer. Now i was trying to run sql statement like select statement but it show following error ORA-02019: connection description for remote database not found 02019. 00000 -  "connection description for remote database not found" *Cause:     *Action: Error at Line: 1 Column: 25 what is this meaning for this error. Kindly help me out. Thanks.

i made connection using the ip address of my computer but the test shows an error " that network adaptor couln't  establish the connection.", then i did it with cmd prompt. then it says connected. my question is that m i really connected and where is my db like the local db i made earlier.

when i write select * from employees; it says ORA-00942: table or view does not exist 00942. 00000 -  "table or view does not exist" *Cause:     *Action: Error at Line: 1 Column: 15  what to do

you have to connect as .....conn hr/hr to a HR schema and select * from tab; to see if there is employees table in HR schema. This is the only way you can select from a table.
